I was all for getting Bennell but i think il give it a miss. The guy is obviously a trainwreck and is spiraling out of control in the exact manner as Dayle Garlett

I don't think Bennell has a meth addiction

An alternative explanation for his behaviour is that he's done a deal with a club, and they've said to him...

"Harley, stink it up a bit so we only have to give GC pick 43 and a box of kleenex! Cheers Mate! Look forward to your coming on board. ;) ;) ;)".

Similar to Darling getting to West Coast...

Guess the joke's on them after that pathetic dropped mark yesterday!

Morning after the GF or after Brownlow? He was out with Dusty after Brownlow.

They tried to get Dusty to look out for him but apparently he "disappeared."

Who was the one with rocks in their heads that decided Dustin Martin was the best candidate to take Harley under their wing?

Notwithstanding the "photo", I suspect alcohol is Bennell's poison and it's probably not an issue during the season.

I think his skill would offset any off season alcoholic problems. He's a guy that could help you win a flag.

We talk about aggressive trading. We need to go for natural footballers. He has x-factor, he has pace, goals everything. I'm sorry, but we're not in a position to say no to someone of his class. He's not a killer, he's not a rapist, he took some recy drugs and got on the grog.

I hope we're into him.

Yeah we are...'Pennant' posted something about staying clear when this Bennell trade thing came up. He's pretty much on the money with this sort of call, I'm pretty sure he said a similar thing about Garlett.

I suspect you're right. Just a pity we don't look like taking a little bit of a risk here.

Unfortunately 'Adam' we're just not in the position to take this type of risk. We have to be smarter and Bennell would cost us a good pick and/or player.

What I don't get is how does Bennell cost any other club a pick if GC are dumping him? I understand that he is contracted until 2017 so why would you bother negotiating they either sack him and let him go to the draft or work with him as he plays out his contract.

If no one offers trade or otherwise then what would GC do? If he is dumped another club could offer a lifeline for nothing in the PSD.

We weren't in any position to say yes. When you try and build a culture you can't make rules for a team, and another set of rules for an individual.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
