Anyone else expecting a very free running offensive derby over in WA this week? I wonder if the coaches have had a chat. The last thing they need is a bone crunching Derby battle where they both drop the following match as well.

It is actually in Fremantle's interest to not win this Home Derby if they want Whorethorn to have ANY chance of making a long trip to say "Hi" in September

Such a shame Meth Coke couldn't finish the job last week....

Have I missed something this week?

Did Fremantle change it's coach?

The scenario that we will play a Fremantle seconds team and grab an unearned 4 points in round 22 is highly possible.

Anyone else think Pies will get the business done up in Sydney? Swans have been pretty average of late....few back for the pies....

No WJ they haven't but I can't see why Freo would want to win this one. They have top spot sown up and they would want to make the Dorks finals campaign as hard as possible, that means not helping them get top 2 but making them travel as much as possible. Just wondering if coaches can change how games are played by changing their normal tactics. An example from the past was the Krueser Cup where the Blues chose not to man up on TJ to the tune of 42 possessions so if you let a play maker have a free run the game opens up. Anyway it may turn out to be the usual brutal affair but all that will do is aid the Dorks quest for 3 in a row which seems almost inevitable at this stage.

Hate to say it but Collingwood getting a bad run from the umpires.

Apparently you can tackle a Swan and they're just allowed to drop it.

So just give it to Swanny then. Problem solved.

Looking at where the 50m arcs and centre square are at the SCG, I see the AFL have redefined the metre again.

Postage stamp of a stadium. Couldn't believe how small it was when I went to the Big Bash there last year.

No wonder the two-way running game is so suited to the SCG.

Swans look gone. Has the bubble burst, will we see a real drop off next year. They just seem to have no outside pace and skill, coupled with the inside group skills looking under real pressure the second half of the year.

Huge bummer for Luke Parker, I'd kill to have him at the Dees. Say what you will about the Academies, but the Swans know how to draft players in the draft proper.

Swans do look miles off the pace though. Could easily see them falling out of the top 8 next year, despite the ongoing Academy gifts they'll receive this year.

Re Parker forget about sling tackles we need to deal with these swing tackles where you grab a smaller guy and swing him around your torso so his legs and feet get caught under yours with no way of comming around with his body so you get a knee wrench, an ankle give way or a break to a leg. There is no need for that spiral type of tackle, it needs to be outlawed.

Disappointed . I hoped to get a glimpse after the game of Big Chief Red-In-The-Face .

Essendon getting flogged by 42 points. Only kicked 3 points in the 2nd quarter. Hope they get flogged and more heat put on Turd.

Saints up by 20 on nth. Id laugh if Nth drop this.

Essendon are clearly tanking. Hird gave an almost exact description of Darcy Parish when asked what type of player the club was targetting this draft. Couldn't be more blatant they want to lock in pick 4 and prevent us from getting Parish.

His totally disinterested performance in the coaches box says it all.

As for North, we all know they're pretenders. Would love to see them lose this one.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
