Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tom Lynch (Adelaide Crows)

How many goals do you think Hogan would have kicked at Adelaide this year...?? 22 is modest.

Lynch is 4th on the Adelaide goalkicking with 25 behind Betts, Walker and Jenkins. He also has 25 goal assists. Vince and Dawes are equal 3rd our goalkicking list with a grand total of 10 each.

Yeah, your right. Lynch is superfluous to our needs.

Lynch plays a different role to Dawes but he would fill Howe's shoes nicely I reckon.

Had him in my UF team last year and was impressed.

These are the players that don't excite people but I am fascinated with the mundane filling of specific but important roles so this excites me...

He's got limited positional versatility, limited pace and kicks like a mule (which is good and bad).

I'd be interested for the right price, but I also think Vanders and Watts can both play as 3rd tall types and have more versatility. Petracca by all reports knows how to take a grab as well.

Kent back, another year in to Brayshaw and Harmes, I just wonder if giving up some valuable commodity for Lynch would be worth it. How much does another good half forward help our ball movement if we still haven't fixed the backline and outside midfield spots or found a 2nd ruck/forward who can play the role consistently.

I know he'd fill the Gunston role but Gunston is quick, as is Roughy. Hogan certainly moves around the ground well but if we are trying to emulate West Coast and Hawthorn then I'd be looking for more speed to go with Hogan not a hard work rate guy.

I wouldn't even consider trading Toumpas and our 3rd rounder for Lynch and their second rounder. Let alone throwing our second rounder in WITH Toumpas, that is crazy.

Lynch isn't that good. Toumpas has more upside. He will take time to develop mentally, but when he does, he will be an important player.

How long will he take in your esteemed opinion KDA?

It's a yes from me.

Straight swap for Toumpas?

No way it would happen but I am sure we would grab it with both hands.

A good description of Lynch's key role by his coach. From his description it would seem they would want to give him the 3 years he wants...unless of course he is talking up the value of the trade or trying to get another club involved...

...looks like we are still in their batting batting to get him: "The Victorian wants to stay at Adelaide but has knocked back its initial offer of a two-year deal, preferring a three-year contract similar to the one Melbourne is understood to have offered him".

Not a fan of Dawes so based on age and form I would really like Lynch in our forward line. If Dawes goes at the end of his contract in 2016 Lynch would already be settled into the side/game plan.

How would you feel if Port Adelaide offered us Andrew Moore in a straight swap for Jack Watts? That's similar to what you've offered.

Two years ago most Melbourne supporters would have taken that.

Rob waters has reported that tom lynch is considering a 4 year offer from dees. Saw it on Twitter. Problem is I can't seem to find out if they are referring to the Gold Coast or Adelaide Tom lynch. Hope it's the Gold Coast one. Anyone know anything about it

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
