Garlet comment is ridicules.

Dunn - excellent but overwhelmed... WTF Dunn was pathetic. Gave away stupid free kicks and 50m penalty. He is lucky Kennedy didn't kick straight.

Garlett's urgency and willingness to chase, harass and tackle any opposition player was nothing short of phenomenal tonight. It directly resulted in goals and scoring shots for us and he kicked 1.2 with our ball movement going inside forward 50 being terrible again. He had 10 tackles. 10!

It's [censored] tiresome reading assessments like these when they can be so wrong. It's not a matter of opinion.

You're either blind or you have no idea.

He was pretty much our best player.

Viney was good. Howe was just behind Brayshaw in effectiveness.

Brayshaw had more tackles in 5 minutes than Howe did for the entire game.

N. Jones - Never stops trying

Dunn - Had better days

Hogan - Fumbled and frustrated

Watts - Better second half

Toumpas - Constant mistakes, again

Dawes - Had limited opportunities

Viney - Kept putting in

Brayshaw - Massive blow early

Gawn - Big let down

Tyson - Much improved tonight

Stretch - Gonna be good

Cross - Effort and errors

Garland - played his role

Vince - Best tagger ever?

McDonald - still so young

Neal-Bullen - Impressive young player

Garlett - A tackling machine

Howe - Never ever chases

Bail - Too many errors

M.Jones - See directly above

Spencer - A mistaken selection

Jetta - Made some mistakes

I don't know what game you watched but Cross was good

Neal-Bullen- get more ball

He knows where to run to score goals, now needs to work on getting to more contests and getting more possies. Looks promising, like a Grimes but more skilful.

Stretch was solid too i thought.

And Dawes knows how to run into him when he does so.

I didn't watch the game so I can't comment on any players. Based on the end result it looks like we were beaten in most parts of the ground.

A 10 goal belting should force 3 changes.

Now I'm going to go out on a limb here picket fence. It is based, however, on the 250 posts you have made on the topic. You don't rate Jimmy Toumpas. Just to reiterate, you do not rate Jimmy Toumpas. You are not a fan of the Toump. You've said it before and you'll say it again, the Toump must go. Get him out of the club. Cannot play. Kaputski. Am I right?

i'm struggling to understand what you are saying here rtg, but i think from the general gist of it, yeah, possibly, sort-of, in a manner of saying you're perhaps on the money

Pathetic isn't it the way people like RTG just beat about the bush and don't say anything definite :-))

He's been doing it most of the year, too.

Wonderful pick up for this club. Love his work.

Both bail and jones dropped chest marks in front of goal which I cant forgive

Garletts goal assists butchered pearls before swine

Beautiful ball delivery to leading forwsrds by wc - cut our defence some slack for that and our fwds would kick twice the goals with similar delivery

Stretch and anb impressed for young light players

If you could keep a tally of free kicks not paid to Melbourne players that would be helpful. Also an analysis of which of those non-frees were followed by a WC goal. You know, if you're offering...

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom
