Has Bernie Vince become our best player?

This thread was ahead of its time. I answered 'no' at the time, I'd like to change that to a 'yes', thanks.

On current form will win the B&F in a canter, and will feature in the Brownlow votes.

I would like to think that Jack Viney will be a contender. Absolutely fantastic year - deserves some club recognition.

At this stage I have Vince on 13 votes and Jonesy on 11

Just a shade behind Fyfe who's on about 39 already.

Nate Jones is our best player by far. No doubt.

I agree with you Moon.

Sickeningly.

Yes, followed very distantly by Jesse Hogan and James Brayshaw.

James has had a great year in the Channel Nine commentary box! Adjudged BOG in the Big Bash but disappointing in the Tests.

Is he our best player this year?

Clearly yes because of his consistency and the fact that he's been amazing at shutting down players (since his Dangerfield game) and beating them at clearances and he's often shown them how to score goals as well.

Is he the best player on our list?

Plenty of potential rivals here and I think we sometimes forget that Nathan Jones is our only midfielder who gets tagged almost every week and his kicking skills are just amazing.

Is he our most crucial player?

Which player, when absent, mucks up our structure more - Gawn, Hogan or even maybe T-Mac would probably pip him here.

Is he our first All-Australian since Jamar and Frawley?

Got to be a chance now and the fact that he tags gives him a point of difference. Will probably get down to him v Armitage because they have to go with the usual big names first - Fyfe, Cotchin, Danger, Micthell, Pendles etc

Its not just the disposals and three goals but pendles had no impact on the game, the crows must not have thought he had this in him.

I swore to myself I’d never make that mistake. Blame the drinks I had last night.

Bernie has been our best recruit of the last 10 years.

He has fulfilled everything the recruitment would have asked. I bet Adelaide are not happy they tossed him out.

3-4 more years left

Would love Bernard to play in September for the MFC

That would [censored] the Camry Crows right off...

Marvellously skilled player - all of the 1st & 2nd year players should be looking on enviously at Bernie's effortless left foot goal kicking and be furiously trying to emulate him.

The left footer that effectively sealed the win at the Cattery together with the one that kickstarted us against The Filth are genuine highlights of the season so far.

(P.S. The final 1/4 boundary line rightfooter against the Bulldogs after nailing Bontempelli was also pretty good).

He will still be motoring along and impacting games until hes 35.

Hes having an AA season, and didn't he miss almost all preseason? What a pro

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
