I always thought Lethal Leigh was a great player and quite obviously a good coach.

But his comments during the game were bemusing.

I must say I was at the game"but had to watch it again and again when I got home.

Lethal said a few times that Hogan showed promise, but will never be a play maker, only a finisher.

He wasn't watching the game I was at, What a [censored]!

He is an abysmal kick for goal from a standing position within easy range and angle.

He misses everyone. As soon as he stopped I knew a behind would be the result

Your constant whining about Bail is very tedious.

He actually put in a huge effort on the weekend and kept the pressure up. He might not have had many touches, but he cracked in hard and was hugely important. Everyone gets you don't like him but stop banging on about it.

My favourite was when he claimed that Brett Goodes bump was good, fair play. Not only did goodes leave the ground and make high contact with his shoulder but it was also unnecessary contact and Matt Jones was very lucky to not end up in next week.

Team balance, I reckon the games we have won the match committee have the balance right. Go back to changes for the Freo game, few on here were worried about Dunn on the tall forwards, he was getting towelled, some suggested bringing in Fitzy for that balance, it enables Dunn to take the third tall, makes sense.

The forward line, it just hasn't worked with the three talls, Dawes has been ordinary, we revert back to two talls with Howe, all of the sudden we score. Playing two defensive forwards worked, unfortunately the two we played are limited but it worked. The two most questioned players on the wings, both gave us skill and run.

The back six looked good again Garland was our fourth defender, this is the best role for him, add in Cross and Grimes the balance was good.

Jessie may not have the Rising Star nomination but he is in the 'team of the week'! Not bad in a side with limited inside 50's.

Whoever compiles the 'team of the week' understands his total game and value a lot better than the Rising Star selectors who probably just look at stats.

His 'crashing the pack' style, the hand pass to Pedersen and other ground work are a joy to watch.

I suspect Jesse is much prouder of the 'team of the week' nomination and the AFLCA votes from the coaches than an RS nomination!

Me thinks he will walk taller and his swagger greater this week!

Edit. That said, just noticed on the replay he was playing Crameri, so maybe he was alright. I'd just prefer him to take the game on more.

I thought crameri played well for them and was around the ground possibly on the ball briefly

If dunn was on him then he was beat or not accountable

I do think we won the inside 50 count and apart from the first 10 minutes of the game we were consistently winning the count.

That said, it was beside the point and Hogan, deservedly so, was in the team of the week.

His handpass was exceptional, but his workrate is the thing that impresses me the most, for someone of his height and weight he can cover ground exceptionally.

When Hogan took that mark right at the start of the match LM delivered a short lecture on how he used his low body weight' to push his opponent away as he took the mark over his oppo's head. I had a good look at the replay and I don't think he touched him - just read the ball better (which is what LM said initially before he decided to rattle on after the ad break).

He just rattles off old cliches. But then, what else is a commentator for.

One of the big differences on radio is that unless you are at the ground you can't see all the mistakes he makes in the call.

He used to commentate the school swimming and athletics when I taught at Assumption College. Made it a long day!

Just watched the final quarter again and it was honestly one of the best quarters of football (if not the best) that i've seen us play since 2010-11. Jones, vandenBurg, Brayshaw and of course Vince were immense in the midfield. All were hitting targets (Brayshaw had some cracking touches) and crunching the opposition (Reily's tackle outside the Bulldogs' 50 says it all). Both Watts and Toumpas had some important touches as well.

Loving the Hogan/Pederson forward combo with Garlett crumbling at their feet. That handball From Hogan was Scott Pendlebery like. He was aware of everything around him and knew that Pedders was running towards goal. Although Garlett didn't have a huge game, he backed his talent and ability to kick the goal from the boundary. (Must've had a couple lessons from Fitzpatick)

Speaking of which, how good was Fitzy down back?! That combination of size and speed is a rarity in the AFL these days and he applied it well in the defensive 50. He also allowed Howe to go forward as well where he looks far more dangerous and interested.

That reel is ridiculous. I know the game was rougher back then but that stuff is outright wrong. He hunted players and took them out, sometimes behind play.

If Crameri was up the ground then great - that's exactly where we would want him. Dunn was right not to go anywhere near him. I thought the back 6 were exceptional. Fitzy was a revelation.
