GAME DAY - Round 7

Recommended Posts

It'd almost be worth delisting everybody and starting from scratch, is that even possible? We need to cut out whatever cancer has infected this club

We would probably get a few more wins if they relegated us to the VFL.

Dawes 2 marks. Spencer nil.

Just not enough return from our big men.

Looking at the game last night Norf's big men were super for 4 quarters. Ours have no impact at all.

I'm not sure how N.Jones gets away from getting a lashing on this site.

Good to see Pedo clunking a few. Trying real hard, presenting well and going ok for his second game in a row. Can't kick set shots, like everyone else in the side. Play him for a 4-5 consecutive games and let's see what he can do. He's a confidence building player. Rest Dawes, Pedo at CHF, Hogan at FF, maybe Watts returns (dare I say it).

Had to leave at half time because I actually work weekends.

But quick comments from today.

Tom Mc is a monolith at moment and makes our other guys look almost incompetent at moment.

Jack Grimes was having a great day as well - he kept presenting and while he doesn't have weapons, he showed that he still has game smarts.

Col was continuing his strong season.

Have to wonder about:

What are Mitchell, Puopolo applying to their arms that makes it almost impossible for us to stick a tackle properly. Our guys don't seem to be wearing the same oil.

Roosy, whom I think is a super coach, opted for a stack of smalls this week and decided on playing Howey as a forward - which is fine, except that Hawthorn selected four tall forwards - Hale, Gunston, Roughy and even Schoenmakers was up there. So how come just 20 minutes into the game you reailise the mistake and send Howey back to defence. Who came up with the idea of going small?

Sorry, but Jimmy T played his last game - not just for us, for any club at AFL level. He isn't quick enough to play outside and certainly isn't tough enough to be a hardnut in the middle. Don't think he will be traded - others will have watched him for 3 seasons now and they know the issue.

Rohan Bail, who at least provides fight and grunt, also may have played his last game - unfortunately two shocking kicking howlers will mean he bears the brunt of major DL fore this week.

There are oterhs, but what was clear was our midfield is not good or quick enough - losing Viney and Frost is a real bummer because we can't match top teams inside and we don't have enough pace outside.

Therein lies the problem - the competition never stops evolving.

We're ducked.

Can't spell. Wadayoo mean ducked.

This club has not recovered from 186 & the whole tanking period

I now wonder if it ever will.

Make T Mac the Captain Tomorrow.

I love Jonesy but he is not the answer

The club is Dead against any pressure

Thanks Schwaby you put the dagger right through this place.

The jumper means nothing.

Get rid of Howe. Reminds me so much of Frawley

is this the price we pay for allowing our culture to get soft years back before the turn of this century!

all those players who came into this club during that phase before Neeld, have all been infected by that attitude of 'self' & 'soft'...

all those beltings after we had become ingrained 'soft', have damaged those who were at the club at that time.

Ahh back home revelling in the ....

Actually...self medicating with a wine(s)

The only thing I can hang a hat on is that there are a handful of players on the list...injured or unavailable that will make a difference.

Only problem is we need TWO handfuls not one.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
