I think a side made up from that list would beat any side today.

Some day they'll come up with a computer program that could have this lot playing against a contemporary team. I'd love to see that.

Now to get way off the thread.

Nick Maxwell on SEN yesterday asked the question if the fact that a great player never plays in a Grand Final effects their legacy. Robbie Flower's omission in this list comes to mind.

The other thing that comes to mind is how many of these players didn't win that midfielders award the Brownlow. The top three on that list are generally argued to be the best of all time yet none won a Brownlow. That award in it's current form shouldn't be the premier award in the Comp. Umpires shouldn't vote on it for a start. They should vote more like Clubs B & F's. Where they vote on performance in a roll. Only one Full Back has ever won a Brownlow and only a couple of FF's.

Think a few of them might struggle today 'ManDee'...they are getting a bit old although with Hird in charge of the supplements program and his links with Dr Ageless who knows.

None won a Brownlow.

Carey, amazing, but would tear teams apart in 10 minutes, not four quarters. Or all year long. Or got suspended.

Ablett the same as Carey.

Matthews too dirty of a player

Waiting for the inevitable "put off contract talks" announcement, citing "overcoming his injury before worrying about contracts" as the reasoning.

Combine his shutdown on Barrett over twitter combined with:

“From day one I knew I wanted to re-sign, I love the club,” Petracca said.

WELL I BLOODY LOVE YOU CHRISTIAN!!!

Watching Christian train this pre season was almost scary, the kid is huge and a freakish talent, fantastic that these young blokes are signing on.

How incredibly inaccurate is that comment:

Bunton x 3

Reynolds x 3

Skilton x 3

Stewart x 3

Thompson

Blight

Hird

Judd

Ablett Jnr x 2

Robran, Ebert, McIntosh, Michael, Head and Kerley never played in the VFL so couldn't win a Brownlow. I am reasonably sure that the first four probably won the corresponding umpires award in their respective states.

Finally, remember the Brownlow is for Fairest and Best, not just Best, hence why many others never won it.

If you know that, who is better placed to judge the award than the umpires?

I was talking about the three named, Carey, Ablett Snr, Matrhews not the rest,

So it's fact. Not inaccurate at all.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
