What I loved about that vid was Bradshaw mentioning his goal kicking comp with Jones after training every day and then Jones coming up before he kicks it to tell him he should kick it due to all the practice.

Kent is going to be a big loss, I thought he set the tone for us early when we were looking a little flat. Uses his pace very well and his aggression is something we have lacked for a while. And some muppets around here wanted him dropped lol.

Just watching the replay and he was really good before he went off. His pressure was sensational and he looked like he was just on the cusp of doing some real nice things going forward.

Our pressure and tackling has been a pleasure to watch. We are not far from doing some real damage to some sides. Our last handballs at the minute are falling short or going to someone in just a little bit of a worse position, if they stick or find a slightly better option we are out and away on the offence.

Our depth will be tested with Kent and Jetts both potentially out. Hogan is still only in his first playing season and we need to make sure don't ride him into the ground.

Loved that moment when up for a mark, clashed with Drummond and then drops to the ground but somehow keeps his balance and takes off grabs the ball with one hand and then passes it off - all in the space of a second.

Then there are those moments when he grabs the ball and just works his way through 6 people then delivers a perfect kick. He did it with his pass to Hogan and his snap on goal.

Had a ball last night. Was lucky enough to sit with some WAGS. Thought the team played as a unit and improved even as the conditions deteriorated. Love watching chunk tackle. Reminds me how lions tackle animals. He just monsters them and gives them no chance. Watch that tackle when the ball goes over the line (and somehow the Richmond bloke gets a free) He was absolutely ferocious.

One observation on JKH. He was terrific in the first quarter. In the second though he flew for marks in packs. Not his job. He should be crumbing. Was impressed how he loses his man though.

Those umpires were so bad last night, JKH had his legs taken out from under him in the goal square late in the third or last term, which the umpire completely missed and how the hell after Jones tackle which went out of bounds did it end up being a free kick against.

There are three umpires out there and they all have different interpretations of each rule

I loved the pre-game stuff and it's actually changed my mind about having a night GF. I think the stuff they could do with a night GF would be great and I'd be surprised if they don't trial it in the next 5-10 years.

I loved the pre-game stuff too. The Light Horse circling the stadium with the flame and then giving it to Ron Barassi was just right, and a great sight to see.

I am not so sure about the night GF, but it was certainly a more spectacular sight that the Anzac Day game. Add about 30,000 to the crowd last night, and we have the best spectacle in the game.

In wet conditions, and playing against a team that has thrown away leads in the second half of games, surely you would give him 5 minutes off the ground. I'm not positive, but I think he may

have rucked the whole final quarter as well.

No surprise that in the second half Jamar was punching the ball clear in numerous ruck contests. Far away from Cotchin and Edwards.

2. Drummond taken off the ground on a stretcher 5 minutes before half time with a knee injury.

So instead of having the subsitute warming up in the rooms, listening to the coaches instructions for the second half of the game, he

is out on the ground, among the little-leagers, doing kick to kick with a trainer! Blind Freddy could see he would be taking off the vest straight away.

If this is the way he coaches, then Hardwick must be heading for the scrap heap in the near future....

I think Hardwick is the worst coach in the AFL. He tries to be too smart for his own good. At one point when they were getting their hands on the ball last night they were playing a 4 man forward line with an 8 man back half. His press conference where he said that was the worst effort he can recall and they were insipid is the upteenth time I have seen him say that. Guess what Damien its your job to get them up so how about taking some responsibility.

Whatever the results it's clear this side is different- it's as if the penny has dropped and they understand the game plan, their individual roles and the effort needed to be competitive. Great to see.

I've been saying for a few years now that Hardwick is a poor match day coach.

I also think he is too close to his players, he has backed them in after 2 years of poor finals performances. They needed to make some big trade moves at the end of last season and just sat on their hands. The list is not good enough for top 4, they think it is. Maybe they will have a rethink...

I was a little dumbfounded by his comments after the game, particularly that on their day they can beat anyone... now I would be concerned for a number of reasons if I was a Brendan Gale.

Firstly while it's fine to support your playing list, I thought he has seriously misplaced his faith in what his list can achieve. They are the quintessential flat track bullies. I think he's going to have to do a Peter Schwab and go to the board cap in hand and argue for a rebuild.... the result will be the same.

Secondly it's not that hard to see that their structure is horrible. They have no crumbers, only two good defensive talks (either of whom misses, that seriously disadvantages them) and an over reliance on Deledio to setup off half back. Their forward structure almost solely relies on Riewoldt while being solid is completely overrated IMO, they have Vickery playing twos, Griffiths who is perennially injured and no other options. They win contested ball, and Cotchin is very good, but... for a side that wins as much of the ball as they do, they don't score.

Thirdly his claims don't hold water, they can't beat anyone, they rarely if ever trouble a top eight side and I think while it stuck in his mouth to admit it, that when the other side wants the ball more, they go missing.
