Agreed, a great interview.

I loved how quick he was to disagree with Burg when he suggested Fremantle were too good.

TomMac has a great belief in himself and the team- but he was filthy after the game.

Bumping this again.

He has been absolutely outstanding. Gave a good interview after today's game too, was clearly livid with with how we played.

I love the attitude when Burgan asked him whether we were too far away from Freo to beat them; he said 'no we can beat them if we play the right way but we were terrible today.'

He is one that has been instilled with confidence - he just has to take a few with him.

And he was uncomfortable laying the blame at the mids - diplomatic but not required - it was fairly obvious where we were smashed.

What excited me today was that I can't recall Tommy missing a target by foot. If he can eliminate those usual errors from his game, he'll be the best defender in the game. Seriously.

There was one directly on to a Freo chest.

But his attacking kicks have featured far more than his clangers this year that's for sure.

[censored] love this guy.

Must have missed that one. Well, he's got something to keep working on then. But loving his one-on-one defending. He's really grown since stepping out from behind Frawley's shadow last year.

Totally agree

Clearly you weren't the Einstein sitting in the top deck of the MCC who, every time Tom went near the ball, berated him as a total dud.

Clear favourite for the bluey at the moment.

How come we seem to develop so many good tall defenders yet constantly struggle for key forwards and dominant midfielders?

Or does the latter inform the former, because they see so much of the ball with ours mids routinely slaughtered?

Unfortunately, quality tall defenders is what we were lacking throughout the our recent finals playing years 2000-2006.

How would we have gone with (Frawley), Garland, McDonald and Dunn back then?

Now we have a good defense, and very little of anything else... but we're getting there.

Has always had the mental toughness, commitment and willingness for the contest. Now has the confidence, improving skills, consistency and tactical brain to go with the toughness. Becoming a great player. Just love how this guy plays the game. My favourite player. The key to this guy is that he has played well in all games, win or lose. That is the competitive beast and pride in personal performance.

Also shows what can happen if you have an appetite for the contest from Day 1,

Probably our most important player after Jones and Tyson. I believe I posted that he was more important than Frawley a few years ago, I would search for that but I said some other dumb stuff I don't want to read again IIRC...

Nicho won't be happy with that comment. Neither will Jamie Shanahan....

About as honest as i have ever se3n from a player.

What i like even more from his post-game interview is that he is hurting from the loss. There would be quite a few on our list who wouldn't be hurting, or would let the loss go too easily.

He isn't the best disposer or decision maker, but if he sticks to his strengths and limits his weaknesses (as a smart player should), he will quickly rise up the AFL ranks, as he has begun to do.

PS - His intercept and overhead marking has to be up there with the best in the league. He has very safe hands which is bloody reassuring given the ball seems to go in there a lot more than the other end.

Hun didn't even have him in demons best players, despite having him as top points scorer by a long shot

says a lot of the hun....probably didn't even have a journo there

when the calibre of their journo's is the like's of John Ralph and Jay Clark..........well.....................

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
