Ruling on Dank seems inconsistent: how come he can be charged for trafficking a range of substances without any evidence/proof that the substances were what they were purported to be, while he and the players are cleared of TB4 because there's no proof it was what it purported to be?

Have to confess to being somewhat gobsmacked by the Tribunal's decisions, and the only thing that will surprise me more is if WADA don't appeal to CAS. The outcome/conclusions just seem so at odds with the precedents set in any number of WADA cases.

Just amazing, from The Age.

"The tribunal on Friday revealed that it had cleared him of administering thymosin beta 4 to the players but chairman David Jones was "comfortably satisfied" that the biochemist was guilty of attempting to traffick hexarelin "to third parties, namely to Essendon athletes and support persons of the club" and "assisting, encouraging and aiding, abetting and covering up" use of the drug contrary to the anti-doping code.

He was also found guilty of a charge relating to an official at the Carlton Football Club and involving Australian baseball.

Dank was also found guilty on two of three charges of attempting to traffick to Essendon players humanofort, a cocktail of drugs, including insulin growth factor 1, insulin growth factor 2, mechano growth factor, fibroblast growth factor, follistatin and thymosin beta 4."

Or synchronised swimming.

Archery for mine, as they seem very good at drawing long bows. Come to think of it, cycling may be the perfect sport for them ... :)

How could they possibly conclude to their comfortable satisfaction that Dank attempted to traffic in TB4 when they don't know what it was that he was trafficking?

Beggars belief.

So do we take it that these are some of the drugs that Essendon:

A. Were offered by Dank but knocked back by Essendon who then couldn't remember because of no records?

B. Were offered by Dank but knocked back by Essendon who could remember because they kept records of just the things they didn't take

C. Were offered by Dank and used by Essendon in all likelihood

I think we all know the reason this took so much longer than the other result is because they had to ensure they didn't contradict their blatantly corrupt finding the other week.

This all just stinks to high hell. Come on in WADA!

well that's amazing that Danks was prepared to give all of these essendon players all these other drugs and things and even ordered TB4 but kindly stopped short of actually giving it to them....

I cannot see WADA walking away from this, now that Danks farcical trial is over ASADA can now step aside and let its big brother come in and clip the AFL and Essendon over the ears for stupidity and find their own level of comfort.

just some more big business; keeping the truth from the adoring public

give us all the truth AFL,,, & hang the guilty from the highest grandstand..... the ones who brought Dank into their clubs.

Dank isn't the Big Issue here, its the want to cheat, & in this fashion, that is the real cancer in all of this. the ones from within clubs, who wanted drugs to cheat the system.

well boys; I seem to remember that I said the players wouldn't get suspended, way back near the start of the investigations, by the AFL & by ASADA.

just another politically correct decision, witch has found a way of becoming a reality.

& we could have made a play for some players, when they were angry back in the early days of all this.

Or they were all received, offered and injected into Dons players but ASADA did not bring them before the tribunal (besides TB4 which the tribunal found to satisfaction they could not conclude was injected) so they could not rule on the players for those?

So the guy running the program at Ess was found guilty but no one else?? 1 "rogue" guy even with the texts to and from Hird? Even with the details of Doc Reid knowning something was going on but he was overruled by dank and hird. F me

And Ess paid for all of those drugs.. But no way to prove it was injected. Tell you what I'd hate to see the size of the gold fish, ninja turtles and alligators in the Essendon sewers.

don't expect a running commentary from worksafe

In an unrelated but Government flavored approach to this (cheating), does anyone have any knowledge about how clubs are required to pay or claim tax/GST on Club business.

We see annual reports and profit and loss statements for Clubs but how would the bills be payed and subsequent claims be substantiated.

I'd love the ATO to be able to investigate some of the claims. Try telling them "we don't have any records"

trialled by witchdoctors & witchnurses, only for the guinea pigs to be found not guilty of using black magic oops, or even taboo dealings of the medicine man.

but when the suns pass the yardarm, they want to hang the witch doctor, knowing he won't return anyway to this tribe; & he won't cause them anymore anxt over poisonous potions, less it bites him back.

......... so he will just ssshliver away into the quiet suburbs of special oops, where new frontline sciences are tried by those who have the will for something else.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
