Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I think both trenners and grimes may ultimately need a fresh start at a new club. We really threw our young guys under the bus

Maybe but there are two things you should not forget.

Trengove has been injured for three years.

And Grimes does not have the delivery skills required to be a top player at AFL level.

Don't just blame everything on the silly captaincy issue.

absolutely agree OD

Captaincy or not. Players still have to perform at a certain level.

The 2 above mentioned haven't for a long time.

I understand where you are coming from Sir Paul but I would very much like both of them to join Jones, Dunn and Watts in that small group of players that emerges out of this Clubs darkest hour to enjoy success.

If anyone deserves some fun times Jack and Jack do

Who would everyone drop for Trenners at this point? It was hard enough fitting Vince in.

A fit Trengove with his speed back replaces either Cross, Brayshaw, Kent, vanders, possibly Howe and H goes back, trenners was a bloody good footballer on the rise pre foot injury.

He's a good replacement for Cross when the end comes...

I won't write Trenners off just yet.

edit; write for right...lol

TRADE definitely What more reward is necessary?he is being paid his contract rate and He is recovering. The club will have to make an unemotional decision based on what is best for the club.

Nope. This is one player we owe. If he can't get back on the park we owe him a career, whether it's in the club or out of it. I would be ashamed of my club if we discard him with ought helping him out.

The captaincy didn't help either player, but where it really hurt Trengove was the expectation it put on him to be on the field. Long story short he is physically broken because of that decision, and we owe him a decent shot at a career when his foot is right.

Trengrove officially rules himself out of 2015. Link below:

As much as I like to think Melbourne has stopped making stupid trade decisions, I have a horrible feeling that we will move him on for a packet of chips at the end of the season, for him to then be revitalised and return in great form for another team.

I hope like hell we sign him on for another year to give him a chance to play AFL standard footy again, even if it is on the rookie list. Unfortunately, I see Mitch Clark 2.0.

So your rating the Mitch Clark comeback a success after his one game ?

Now I know Roosy is a PR master. But he described Trenners as having the best preseason of the group. That's a huge pump up. I didn't think Clark would play again, now I think he'll kick 40 goals this year.

Get some speed across the ground and he's good to go.

To me this is the key. If the foot holds up and he gets his speed back he should end up fulfilling his early promise and our depth gets a massive injection. If the foot injury means his speed is gone permanently then unfortunately he isn't likely to play again. Other people with this injury have fully recovered, some haven't. If there wasn't a chance of a full recovery you would assume we would have heard about it by now.

He was out training at Goschs on Thursday, assured me everything was on track, last scan was really promising, he has a really solid upper body now, they have obviously been working on it

fixing the navicular is blood supply/oxygen & nutrients to its cells

maintaining the injury from recurring is maybe bigger?

What exactly do we owe him/

Keep a good fit young player off the list

As i said its up to Trengove he has to impress the club that he is fully recovered and able to hold his spot. Going to be difficult if his contract ends before he is fit. Remember he really wont have played fully fit for 3 years

If trenners come back near his best and petracca also returns in good nick that's two pretty handy recruits to to go with the 18th pick in the next draft

I'd be more than happy with the 11th pick.

Yes he was an A grader, much more so than his "mate" Scully. He is also a leader and a top bloke , and we don't have a surplus of leaders at the club

Maybe 6 six goals in a NAB challenge game doesn't indicate he is back to you, it does for me.

Maybe kicking 3 goals out of your teams 8 total for a game against one of the best defences in the competition doesn't indicate he is back to you, it does for me.

Geelong would consider his comeback a success. No doubt about it. In saying that I'm glad we got HL, but would rather it not have been at the expense of Clarke.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
