FAREWELL JEREMY HOWE

Could we be making a play for Scache here?

Potential on trade to Brisbane pick 3 and Dawes? Or whispers of Brisbane worried of go home factor and may opt for a different player?

Sets up our forward line for next 10 years.

Before making those sorts of statements, remember that we're meant to be in the middle of the Watts-Cook era.

Trade Jeremy Howe & Pick 6 To Gold Coast For Pick 3. Which is likely to be Pick 5 after the Academy picks.

Howe is worth more than moving forward by 3 slots, and the academy picks are irrelevant since we wouldn't have access to those players anyway.

If Jeremy Howe opts for Gold Coast, potential deal could be Pick 3 to Dees for pick 6 & Howe. North and Pies other suitors. #TradeSENtral

Lol. Brett Anderson just seems to guess the whole time. I get that most of them do this too, but at least some of them try to dress it up as a rumour. :P

Clearly it depends on how we rate the top 6.

I'll back our recruiters. Howe won't take this club anywhere or stand up in real 'heat'. He never has.

How many on our list have? The vitriol towards Howe is ridiculous. For a majority of his career he's played as a forward in a team the gets the ball inside 50 less than every other. As a backman, he's probably taken more contested marks than anyone else in the team. I'm not saying that a trade cannot benefit us, but Howe's performance has been better than many on here are saying.

If we can trade Howe and pick 6 to GC for picks 3 and 19 then it is a win-win. The Gold Coast pick up a highlight reel who they can market, whilst not losing any players and retaining a high pick. By upgrading our first round pick we ensure we get our target (whether that be Curnow or Francis) and get a high second round pick to assist us in getting our midfield trade targets over the line.

We know the upgrade of three spots at the pointy end is actually worth quite a bit. Then to also get pick 19 would mean that Howe is worth to GC somewhere around pick 10-15 (in my subjective point of view).

I think the consensus on here is that he is a second rounder roughly. So even though i would love getting this, i cant see it happening (the 6 to 3 and a third rounder is much more realistic & fair i think).

Except for the fact that Scache has openly said he wants to play for Brisbane - like his dad did. So go-home factor wouldn't be an issue

And he's just not that great.

As someone that does part time work with the Bushies and seen numerous games live i find this comment laughable. Like every player in the draft he has faults but a very driven individual and thirst to get the absolute best out of himself. A humble kid from a great family i see Schache having much higher upside then Tom Boyd, has enormous potential. Brisbane have snared a future power forward of the competition.

Not sure what to do with the attached image.

This was sent to our (then 6 year old) son when he was getting swayed by school friends to support a different team because the Dees 'sucked'. When membership volunteers called, I told them the issue and about a week later, this is what we got in the post.

I believe it's the club who wants Howe out.

Most clued on supporters know that Howe is poor in a contest, but Dermie summed him up perfectly the other day when he said he won't mark in front, it always has to be from behind. And for me, that's the main reason he's so unreliable as a forward and always has these long quiet periods. Gunston is a great mark in front and in front of his eyes. Watts and Howe aren't.

Howe is a $350K player looking for $500K.

Bye.

His manager was also trying to talk him up the other day talking about how quick he was and he had elite ability for repeat sprints - problem is he only runs one way so we don't see him use that skill to pressure his opponent in a game.

Haha. Maybe send it back to him? A guy at work lives next door to him so I can ask him to pass it on!

Did your son end up sticking with us by the way?

Get the club to send him a Hogan or Brayshaw one.

Did I hear he hasn't nominated a club? If so, that is a big positive for us if we can play the interested clubs off against each other.

Hopefully he gets to the Gold Coast, they have the most to offer.

a short little private home visit from 'a Brayshaw' or 'a Viney', would be really nice to read about.

OCTOBER 12, 1.58m: HOWE NOT GONE YET
AFL.com.au's Nick Bowen reports Jeremy Howe hasn't walked out on Melbourne just yet.
"Jeremy Howe remains more likely to leave Melbourne than stay but is yet to request a trade, his manager says.

"Reports on Monday said Howe had requested a trade from Melbourne but the high-flying utility's manager, Ben Niall of Scopo Management, told AFL.com.au his client had yet to decide his future.

"Howe has received offers from Gold Coast and North Melbourne, while a third club – believed to be Collingwood – is also likely to table an offer this week.

"The 25-year-old Tasmanian is on holiday in Bali, but returns to Melbourne late this week.

"Niall said his client should then be able to compare the offers from the Demons and his rival suitors, and decide where he wants to play next season."

Thinking of hash tagging the image on twitter.

And yes, our son's heart beats true. The wonderful irony is that most of the kids at his school are Bombers supporters.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
