Sam Blease wants out

personally id just be happy with the sal cap space and a box of twisties.

We arent really losing much. Not a slight upon the kid but 6 years for what exactly ?

All the good times, remember,

the fact that he is best mates with $culldog only kept him a serious contender for so long.

I still reckon he will play 100 games of AFL somewhere.

The penny will drop for him that he is allowed to run back into defence also.

It is a fair swap but also is it a waste of paperwork? Their defensive abilities are as bad as each others

Good observation but the difference is that Blease didn't improve in that area in the year he was under Roos.

Garlett could be an asset if allows himself to be coached by Roos to play the way he wants him to play.

Yet another player who had enormous upside but sadly diabolical downside that showed up far too often. It really is a pity that he never got his act together. I do kind of feel for him if he winds up at a good club though. He's going to get a hell of a shock.

but did he ??? I mean really ?? Or was it all part of the hype . Id suggested limited upside and a deplorable attitude to the opportunity he had...i.e being on an AFL list.

Id say he was enormously over rated

He only turned it on a couple of times, but when he did it was pretty bloody good, even if it was against some pretty poor opposition.

Part of the anguish of the Sloane family in Rory not being picked up by the demons lay in the fact that Sam blease was chosen at number 17. This confounded all at eastern ranges. No love Iost in the Sloane household. But again Barry prendergast you lying tool.

I saw a post once where someone claimed they ran into Blease and Gysberts somewhere where it was intimated that neither really enjoyed the stresses and expectations of AFL footy.

Im guessing the lack of defensive improvements this year might be why Blease struggled under Roos.

Good luck to him where ever he goes.

He was always gone at the end of the year. Maybe someone else will find a way to harness his speed and upside without showing much of his downside. Probably not though.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
