  1. Hopefully, we’ll not only get the W but we’ll stay unscathed so that with the bye, we’ll have a few more back and a much healthier list.
  2. I just can’t see the Eagles advancing much over the next decade even if they change their approach to recruiting. They could have traded three first round picks for their number 1 pick last year but I suspect Harley Reid will be outta there after a few seasons.
  3. Did I read correctly that Casey’s next game is against Port Melbourne next Saturday 6th April at Kinetic Stadium, Frankston? That’s a fair trek from the inner city area just to watch a game of footy and get a Burraberger?
  4. 6 Alex Neal-Bullen 5 Max Gawn 4 Christian Petracca 3 Trent Rivers 2 Jack Viney 1 Clayton Oliver
  5. Well, the Herald Sun hasn’t disappointed this morning. The headline says TALL FALL AS DEES TAKE ON BIG WET and it’s about our uncapped defender Jed Adams who slipped in the soaking rain and faceplanted while in the middle of a kicking drill. Trainers were called, he might end up with a shiner and finally the club confirmed there was no fear of concussion after the slip. Meanwhile, Lachie Hunter’s sore calf kept him away from the main group but he “moved strongly and ran at good speed” and could “return to training with the main group as soon as Friday’s session”. Hallelujah! The club’s season is back on track. Thanks Herald Sun.

  7. Warning about highlight reels - they don’t mean much. It’s possible to compile them for most young players at this level of competition.
  8. West Coast playing their games again.

  10. The demand for Grundy is well and truly out there. If we can manage a trade that effectively leaves us with a younger senior ruckman who is prepared to play the understudy to Max then it will be most likely be done.
  11. The club has the scans but isn't commenting on them.
  12. 6 Pickett 5 Petracca 4 Brayshaw 3 Hunter 2 Neal-Bullen 1 Viney
  13. IIRC Rory Laird played a blinder for the Crows that day and he’s out injured today.

  15. Poll for tonight. Who would you rather be - Michael Voss or Marlion Pickett?
  16. I didn’t give him my votes but don’t underestimate Judd McVee’s contribution today.
  17. 6. Jack Viney 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Christian Petracca 3. Max Gawn 2. Jake Lever 1. Tom Sparrow
  18. We could really prove ourselves by taking NT and Essendon NGA talent Anthony Munkara at pick 37 (if available). There’s talk around that the Bombers have been trying to hide him from view so that nobody takes him inside pick 40.
  19. Wardlaw would find it very hard to break into the Melbourne midfield because he models his play on our own midfield bulls. Tsatas would be more likely especially with the impending departures of players like Bedford and Hunt. We do have a need for quality outside runners and that’s exactly what Tsatas is. As for lack of composure, I’m not sure what we would have expected from the kid in his first game back from injury in elite company when he got 30 touches. Remember, at NAB level, he was BOG for Oakleigh in all four games since he came back. What more can you ask of a 17 year old?
  20. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Christian Petracca 4. Angus Brayshaw 3. Kysaiah Pickett 2. Steven May 1. Bayley Fritsch
  21. Also Deakyn Smith and Daniel Turner. We also have Dunstan and Daw who haven’t played for us in the AFL.
  22. Hawthorn look shot to me as well. After the season finished I thought they might improve with Mitchell on board and the progress they made late under Clarkson. But the balls up during the trade period with shopping around senior players suggested that there might be some dissension in the group. Not a good look and it highlighted their aging list too.
  23. James Jordon to come back onto the Primary List. Clubs confirm seven AFL rookies set to be upgraded to the Primary List
