Here's what it's looking like if everything goes to plan

Frost for pick 55

Garlett for Blease

Lumumba for Clarks pick (35?)

Dangerfield for Pick 2 (and 3 if we have to)

Back: Jetta, Dunn, Garland

Half-back: Lumumba, T-Mac, Grimes

Mid: Vince, Tyson, Viney

Half forward: Garlett, Dawes, Howe

Forward: Kent, Hogan, Pedersen

Rovers: Gawn, N.Jones, Dangerfield

I/C: Watts, JKH, Frost

SUB: Salem or Toumpas

EMER: Cross, Jamar, Stretch

I would say we could make finals with this squad, but because i'm a Melbourne supporter legally I can't.

But I can say this, IN ROOS WE TRUST.

Lewis, I hope but I wouldn't play him in a back pocket

Neville.

My only concern with Jeffy is how will he go in a tough, physical, final. I can't see him having much of an impact in a really physical game.

Our mitigant here I suppose is that he mightn't be playing in one for a while.

2010 Elimination Final vs Sydney (5 point loss)

16 disposals, 4 marks, 2 goals 2 behinds, 2 tackles

2011 Elimination Final vs Essendrug (62 point win)

16 disposals, 3 goals 2 behinds, 4 tackles, 7 inside 50's

2011 Semi FInal vs West Coast (3 point loss)

9 disposals, 2 goals, 5 tackles

2013 Elimination Final vs Richmond (20 point win)

10 disposals, 2 goals 2 behinds, 3 tackles

2013 Semi Final vs Sydney (24 point loss)

3 disposals, 3 tackles

Bit of a mixed bag, loved the game vs Essendrug but last seasons Semi was a shocker (was he the sub?)

Lets not forget he was a big part of his team getting to the finals, you cant just say you dont want a player because they dont dominate finals

His ability to play in finals is of little consequence if he is coming to us!!

That would be a worry that I would be more than happy to have, at this stage. Edited by monoccular

Can't see us landing Dangerfield.

Nice rumour for a while, but it seems to be nothing more than that.

I reckon we can, if Adelaide stop being stupid.

Rory Sloane on Instagram might indicate otherwise.

....or it might mean nothing. Woop!

If Adelaide stop "being stupid" by offloading their best player??

Yeah if he leaves next year pal for nothing but a compensation pick that will be at best pick 6

I'm hoping Blease is included in the Garlett deal, and that we won't need to use #23.

Why would we use pick 23 for a player they don't want? It'll just be Blease for Garlett

Doubt any club will pick up Tappy, Blease or Strauss as steak knives in a trade. All 3 become DFA at the end of the year, so any club can pick them up for free if they choose.

Just as we'll take Gwilt without giving St Kilda anything.

"Chelsea Clinton? Dude you'd have a better shog at Bill.."

Ambitious RE: Danger.. Its looking more likely we'll have 2 of these three.. Petracca Brayshaw and McCartin..

And I can't see Jamar not starting in the ruck.. And with any luck the forgotten Trengove will be up and about as the sub round 1!

Jetta Garland Dunn

Lumumba T-Mac Grimes

Vince Tyson Viney

Garlett Dawes Howe

Kent Hogan Pedersen

Jamar N.Jones Cross

I/C: Watts Frost Salem

SUB: Trengove

EMER: JKH, Gawn, Stretch

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
