Oh no. Not Robbie :(

My first memory of watching footy was the great man zipping down the wing. What a sad day for all of football.

He single-handedly kept us coming to the footy in some dark days. Then there was 87.

An absolute legend and the last true champion to play for the club.

I only came onto DL tonight to gloat over the bombers fiasco then I read this. Shocking news. RIP Robbie.

RIP Robbie Flower.

Never saw you play but my dad says you were a legend and that I was born on the day you played your 250th and we beat Collingwood.

Robbie Flower was a legend. One of the greatest memories I have is going with my dad to each of the finals in '87 as a 9 year old and seeing the effort the club and our supporters put in to win a flag for Robbie.

I'm so glad I got to see him play. He was our club for 20 dark years. He kept us on the map.

We all owe a lot to him.

Not many in this game are revered by all. His brilliance on the field was acknowledged by all. Many an other champion if asked who was the hardest to play on or against would reply ..Robbie Flower.

Atruly great player, a legend of this club and even more, a bloody decent bloke who always had time to stop.

RIP mate. :(

My childhood hero. How we used to pretend to be Robbie, bouncing a plastic footy down the hallway of our house, dodging and weaving and leaving opponents in our wake, just like the famous number two. I'll never forget the joy of screaming "ROBBIEEEE!" as he took yet another screamer or kicked a beautiful goal. He made me proud to support the MFC. Vale Tulip. We will miss you, but never forget you. A champion in every sense of the word.

A great, great, player and a great great man. I'm gutted and lost for words. Football doesn't matter anymore!

I remember going into Robbie's shop mid 87 when I was only 6 to get a Dees jumper with my mum. When he asked me what number I wanted on the back, I very quickly answered "2." Robbie laughed, and said you don't what #2, I'm an old man, almost finished and he talked me into getting #3.

Whilst I was only young, I can remember what a friendly, humble and gentle man he was. He must have spent half an hour chatting to us both about the dees, did I play footy, how I was doing at school etc.

Legend.

Totally heartbroken. My favourite player ever and my childhood hero. He kept me supporting the Demons through some dark days.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
