Would be a bloody remarkable story if he makes it.

He seems to hold the ball well in that 'before' shot.

We need an effective ruckman, so, if he's the best available, why not?!

I'm not opposed to it - I just can't quite get my head around this sort of transformation.

Pity we can't get Stef Martin back.

He looks like he would dominate in a game of footy in Kalgoorlie. And definitely in the pub following it.

Not in the AFL.

Having seen the 'before' shot, I simply can't get my head around the fact that someone could go from that to dominating an AFL game in 2015 and beyond. It's simply so elite now. And these guys have got to run like Kenyans - even the ruckmen, just to get to the contest.

Good luck to him - but I just can't see it. Would be an amazing story if he gets picked up - literally the stuff of movie land.

There's already been an amazing story about a player like him - Shane Mumford - who lost similar amounts of weight before he started his AFL career. Mumford is 199cm tall, now weighs 108kg and can match it with most rucks in the comp.

Funny first thing I noticed as well.. He can obviously use a footy properly. No strangulated corruptions there.

Totally agree with 'effective" Thats all.. To make a contest, win occasionally , and deprive them of an easy tap etc..

Sometimes rucking is just about bringing it to ground in a manner to give your 'smalls" an opportunity.

But by many accounts this guy is quite 'effective'.

I know a few on our list who arent !!

Pick him in the rookie draft.

We need more ruckmen on our list, as Jamar is closing in on retirement and all other options keep breaking down. This guy could fill a hole in our list and also attach a good media story to the club. He'd also drive training and preparation standards if he has that sort of will power!

How exactly did Essendon give him a trial at 140kgs? Not even all the AOD in the world would've had him ready for AFL until now I would've thought.

200cm is the new small for AFL rucks. He obviously has skill if people believed in him at 140kgs. But I would think he needs either: strength (Mumford, Jamar etc) or a great leap and agility (Nic Nat, Zac Smith, Ryder) to be an effective AFL ruck.

Maybe they had word of a new experimental "substance" that could turn fat into muscle - just a few shots quietly in some offsite shooting room.

Looks like the various recruiters didn't place a great amount of weight on his story.

Slim chance of that.

Some people say he shouldn't be taken lightly.

How did you get the skinny on that? Slim chance? Fat chance more like it!

I pulled into Nazareth ...

that was a bit obtuse but now I see the lightness.

What are you on? May have been an improvement Clit!!

However, I'm quaffing a very fruity McLaren vale cleanskin. I was given a case Clit, so calm down.

BTW . I thought my pun on "shed" was rather clever!!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
