Interestingly they mention that we've made 3 list changes, noting Shannon Byrne's retirement as well.

Mitch Clark's 'retirement' wasn't mentioned in the article.

Must say I preferred Clisby to Terlich as a player

There's no doubt our list needs change, but go easy on some of these blokes being delisted at this time of year. It must be a bloody awful feeling for them. A bit of sensitivity wouldn't go astray.

Surely they're not holding out for some trade value for Strauss!

Might be holding off on delisting Strauss, Tapscott etc in the hope that we can use them to slightly improve our picks. i.e. Strauss and pick 80 to a club for pick 75.

Good luck to them and thanks for their service.

Neither guy can claim they didn't try. Nicho especially always gave his all.

I wonder if we'll try to trade Blease or Strauss before delisting. Might get a pick upgrade or something.

Could well be it. Some will say they have no currency, but if we can off load Morton for a pick then anyone can be traded...

Best of luck to them. They have done something we have all dream't and thats play a game for the Melbourne Football Club.

Best of luck to them in the future and what ever career paths they take. They have both contributed to the club and thats all we ask from them.

Ps I was a big fan of clisby....

Part of the job description IMO. They are no longer on the list and although some may want to sugar coat it they have not delivered a great deal to the club. Pumping up there tyres just waters down the impact the true great of the club have achieved.

Thanks for the effort but you were not good enough to get a game in collectively the worst team in the last 15 years.

They got paid a bloody good wage to live every boys dream. No need to hide from the truth.

It's part of the game Maggot, but in reality two guys just lost their job. There is no need to stuck the boots in (like some have on here). They were not up to playing AFL, but it was the clubs decision to hire them.

Maybe Progressive Insurance can bundle them for that bloke with the horse body.

I liked Clisby last season, and he would be lamenting the fact that he had an injury-interrupted pre-season and also was injured during the year.

Harsh and unnecessary. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by sugar coating Maggott. No one is under the illusion that they were stars but I certainly don't think my opinion of Robert Flower is lessened because Clisby struggled to get a regular game. it's a nonsense.

Clisby was a shrimp and Nicholson was a jet who kicked out of bounds very well.

They were both squibs at times.

Perhaps we can invite them to a reunion of hacks, although that may lessen my previous post. Go Dees.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
