we dont attack the player with the ball, everyone is so busy chasing their own man that they run past the man with the ball. In the final term a west coast player got the ball near our 50 meter line and jones ran right past him chasing his man instead of going at the man with the ball. It happened time and time again throughout our games. No protection for our own players again our guys are too worried about their men to help their own.

hurry up and clean out this list.

I hope someone hangs around to catch Roosy's presser because I really would like to know why he selected the side they way he did with all those talls in the forward line.

just sorting the list jack, having a look at players up in the seniors, before final decisions.

this will be the making of the club this off season... I hope we will be free of any who won't have a dip physically. watts is softer than cordner was.

Sorry get confused with my left and right!

Could be a team rule???

I would guess he was testing which of the talls are really worth keeping jack. In the sense that is there any that can maybe play forward and not just ruck?

Ie., we have a few talls in the list. May as well only keep those worth keeping who can actually do some damage when resting/pushing up forward. He might not keep any other than possibly the big Russian for one more year until we find a replacement. Probably sees the bulk of them as list cloggers, along with plenty of others in the team.

That's it ...season done.....why bother watching the same crap served up. Frawley has been useless they shouldn't play him next week on principle. I cannot see where our improvement will come from and still we get knobs saying we don't deserve a PP.

At qrt time Roos was interviewed and said something like "we haven't executed anything that we have spoken about" then he was asked about going down the corridor and he said " yeah as long as we don't kick it to the opposition".

U can lead the horse to water but u can't make the stupid thing drink!

I can see where the improvement will come - we have some players who are worth persisting with going forward and plenty who aren't, and the improvement will come further with those players no longer on the list and (hopefully) better players replacing them.

That can't be true, he doesn't have a right foot/leg.

last chance to show something for some, some to be de-listed, & some may end up rookied? but its time to have a final look to see who's who, & also protect P-2 at the same time, as our season has been well over.

erxactly, our good players will play with more porpoise when the freshest of loafers are all gone.

We are ridiculously low on confidence and skill. The high we rode in the first half of the season has well and truly dried up.

Could pick at least a handful of players who played today who have no future at this level.

Oh the other thing lacking at this club...a big obvious i realise, is depth. We have absolutely no serious quality pushing up to put pressure on anyone's place in the 22.

Hence all Roos can do is try and turn the list over every week with an injection of 3 to 4 randoms (who might be showing a little form downstairs) and hope for the best.

The decision to run with Casey as a potential breeding ground is a poor one IMO.

We need to align ourselves with a strong successful culture at VFL level that produces hard nosed footballers who can run hard and finish off good work around the ground. At this stage i haven't seen any of that coming out of Casey.

Time to seriously rethink this direction. A huge fail to this point. I would look to link up with Ayres at Port Melbourne if that's at all possible.

I reckon there will be a lot of players with the "potential banner" on them traded out for players who are goers this off season for the depth you mentioned Rusty.

& some of our players for picks,,, & some of our early picks for ready young players. can't see us taking many 18Yr old kids, maybe 3 - 4 of them? we can't have another season like this next year.

goers & depth have to be addressed this off season.

Will anyone actually bother going to Etihad next week?

Family I lived with in the US 20 years ago, their 19yr old grandson is in Melb for a week as part of his gap year travels. He has chosen the Dees v Norf game as his 1 and only AFL game. I strongly advised he should burn the tickets and go to the Dons v Blues game, silly boy declined and will be 1 of about 8,000 there.

HaHaha, in every joint bjDee, every joint acres when we are carp. the Heart gave up acreing years ago, & now the head just wants the club to be built the strong way, the lasting way, the only real way.

the Jordan/Barassi way

back at North their power eras were built off the back of Jordan & Pagan coaching the kids. the kids came thru hardened, to play AFL & win... poor jacky baby would not have made it thru the wringer of U-19's. basketball is his go, before its too late.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
