Bloody. Umpires. Even after a win I' m fuming. It's not the one's they pay it's the blatant ones that never ever go our way. I can't believe how few of our tackles which stuck beautifully on guys with prior opportunity and fail to dispose of the ball in a legal timely manner get paid. Would love to sit down and watch the game with the entire umpiring panel to be informed why things are paid and why they're not - just infuriating

Having said that and with everything going against us - just enormous all round. Pedo, Howe, watts, Viney, Tyson, jamar, Chunk - huge games. Cross, Vince, Gawn, Dawes great stuff cameo's everywhere -Bail, m jones, toump, Salem, Jkh, all went when it was their turn.

Enjoy a few beers tonight boys and a few days off, then get your [censored] back together quickly as the second half of the season has just been set up. 1 game out of the 8 it is possible for the fairy tale run

Tyson what is his current contract status .Interesting stats for Season so far Kicks 109 Hb103 M 56 7Goals tackles 22 versus someone who left to play finals clean slate so far still if he had stayed what would Roos have made off him

Apparently, Tyson is ranked #1 in getting a possession per minutes in a game?

Did I hear that right?

Its a strange feeling - actually being able to trust that your team will be competitive in games and ... may even have a chance to win... What's it been? 4-5 years?

How was Pigdog's first outing?

Looked good at VFL level, was wondering if he was up to AFL level before being subbed.

He was bloody good, went hard and looked like he belonged.

Kicked an important goal too

Was only subbed for conditioning reasons youd think, since he was playing well

Due to daddy duties I havent seen a minute of the game so I wont read the posts here yet until i watch the replay tonight.

Saw the score and all I can say is:

1. what medication works the opposite to Viagra?

and

2. attachicon.gifpaul-roos_melbourne.jpg

1. Alcohol in copious amounts

2. Paul roos - just love the way PJ fought hard to get him, best decision for the club in years... his persistence reminds of NJs attack on the pill.. both sensational!!

Thanks hh was hoping he could bring the same intensity to AFL, really liked his work at Casey.

Oh yes.

Beating Richmond. The best.

Tyson, Viney, Vince, N Jones all fantastic through the middle, Howe played the best game probably of his career across half-back, Jamar and Gawn in the ruck obliterated Hampson and Vickery (spudtastic though they may be).

And then there's Pedersen, who is surely odds on for most improved this year, and Watts, who is now beginning to string some consistency together. Much more intensity and using his body a lot more.

We ran hard and hit hard all game. Players are starting to have trust in each other that they will win the contest which is meaning players are making quicker decisions. People that argue the Tyson deal are kidding, I would argue Tyson for pick 2 on its own is still a clear win. Just because it hasn't been mentioned, T-Mac did a cracking job on Riewoldt.

Good call on McDonald. He's still got a lot of problems offensively, but I thought he beat Riewoldt today one on one.

Our work ethic is now translating into statistical wins - the clearances were one example of that. We hit the contests so much harder (Richmond have some real softc*cks, I tell you what. Morris - wow).

Yes, I feel the same in regards to umps. Is it just that they don't want us to win? Some of our tackles and chase downs were fantastic but no free kick! And then Salem (I think) gets the ball a split second before being tackled and free kick!!! Disgraceful! But we won, like we did against Crows

Fantastic team effort!

We live in hope!

Why do you say that? I thought it was good and one of the more free flowing games I have seen of recent times.

god it feels good to be on the winning side of the ledger.

Umpiring was disgraceful, thats why!

i understand why jones will get the votes, but watts was bog for mine. 19 disposals, 11 marks, 3 goals straight, 4 tackles. the game-changer.

Team performance.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
