hahaha........as soon as you told the judge you were a land poster you'd be instantly excused

I can see it now:

'The defence wishes to submit the following thread replies to demonstrate why the juror is unfit to serve in this court:

* Cameron Ling is too ugly to be Melbourne senior coach.

* Jake Spencer should be played as a decoy full forward and Jack Fitzpatrick on a wing.

* The MFC should make an attempt to lure Tim Tebow to the AFL.'

No Demonlander would last 2 minutes.

John Ralph stated that the GWS players sledge more than any other club and seem to think they've done it all already, you have to wonder how many of the young guys up there just want to play football and would prefer out of the place, like Dom Tyson.

There are a few up there that you wouldn't touch.

Important that we know the difference. Would be terrible to poach a 'gun' only to find he is a rotten egg. For the first time in a long time, I believe Roos, Taylor and Todd Viney would make the right calls.

I'm Liverpool, but I didn't go around beating people. :P

Must be said I never found any benefit from these things being played out in the press first, only detracts from a fair hearing. Anyway am so glad I don't have to deal with idiots who cannot hold their drink anymore (I really hate Crown)..., actually come to think of it am still dealing with idiots... just swap religion and ethnicity for alcohol... might have made a wrong turn somewhere... d'oh!

I've been told quite a few stories about the GWS boys, nothing as serious as Greene's charges, more just utter stupidity amongst themselves. Some of it seriously dangerous, a lot of it the stuff of absolute morons.

And also a massive dose of home sickness.

The joint is a rabble, there's not much Ward and Davis can do to control a bunch of idiots when they're not around.

Has Scully had his first sip of alcohol yet?

I was amazed to learn that Scully is in the leadership group. Just amazed.

Maybe it's based upon him leading his own way out of MFC to GWS...

From the sound of it I'd be amazed if there was a leadership group.

Same.

Looks like GWS have assumed that just because Scully trains hard, that he is a good leader.

Tom Scully isn't a nice person, he only cares about himself and that isn't the type of person I'd want leading my club.

The weaknesses in Scully's game have been there since he debuted, he is stagnant because he hasn't fixed them.

Sometimes in order to fix our weaknesses, we need to suck in our ego and be honest to ourselves - two things beyond Tom Scully.

I don't find it that amazing - but I nevertheless think it's a poor decision. Compared with most of their players he is quite experienced now and, obviously, on good coin - hence the argument for putting him in the leadership group.

But as I've posted elsewhere, to be a leader, you need to have followers. I don't get a sense that Scully is the type to attract followers as he appears to be introverted and obsessive about his own standards of performance. Putting him in the leadership group doesn't automatically make him a leader and as a result is likely to be counter-productive for both him and the team.

Interestingly The Age just now reports a Blues player* was involved in some nightclub altercation over the weekend.

What is it with these guys? Overpaid, overhyped, too much downtime. Testosterone - endogenous or supplements maybe ??

(*no, not Eric Clapton)

I'm used to you making some exaggerated posts, but come on!

The kid left us. Yes, it left a bitter taste in my mouth too.

But honestly, this sort of OTT character assassination is embarrassing.

He might not be a great leader, and he may not have fixed some of his deficiencies, but the rest is beyond ridiculous.

Same with this.

The AFL will realise, like they eventually did with us?

One bad egg does not make the entire club a farce.

We had McLean, Sylvia, Moloney, Carroll... as nauseum.

Listening to the radio tonight, I heard that GWS's leadership group has suspended Greene for 5 games and fined $5000. And that people for Greene have said that it is too severe a penalty. At this point, Greene should keep his head down and lay low.

It was announced that Greene will appeal the decision... as it was handed down by the leadership group, I would say that would make his position at GWS pretty much untenable.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
