Jesse Hogan Injury Update?

Yes the posts are informative. I do enjoy them.

I dont like the thought that someone may be representing me (as part of Demonland) however the mood strikes them, to the club and its players.

I accept my view may be churlish.

I don't think Saty announces himself as Demonland's rep. He simply takes an interest and lets the players know he posts on supporters forum and asks whether it is ok to post what they say.

Not trying to make you tear up, but there's a palpable sense of self-importance there, and it makes you say silly things.

Why you feel the need to tell the kid he has "30 pages of nervous posters" rattling about his health, is beyond me.

I don't think the kid is ignorant, but I also don't think he needs to hear this stuff from a fanboy hanging over the fence.

It's just weird.

I can't believe some of the nastiness that starts to rear its ugly head when Saty passes on such information to us. I have met him a couple of times when I've been in Melbourne and managed to get along to training and Saty does have an obvious rapport with the players and they don't just give a passing nod, but do respond well... the fact that he tells it like it is (his relationship with the players) rather than taking a more humble approach should not be a problem.

Sheesh. The bunch of piranahs eating their own on this place continues to amaze me.

I too have met Saty at training on a trip down to Melbourne. Here is a guy who makes it to training regularly enough for the players to know him and tell him things that others on here don't seem to find out. He takes the trouble to sit down and write them up so those who are interested can find out things that we wouldn't find out otherwise. Especially those of us living interstate.

Saty doesn't matter what you put on here or how you put it. There are people on here who need to vent for their own mental health reasons. I'm sure the vast majority are like me and Hardtrack and grateful for the time you take to bother to put anything up at all.

Not sure if Dom stood there stamping his feet with his bat and ball packed up ready to go home.

The exodus from Brisbane was revolting. Josh Caddy etc...

If you're drafted out of your home state you should not be able to hold your club to ransom by wanting to go home. SA and WA clubs have a massive advantage in this respect.

Agree, the conduct by Polec was a disgrace.

Started his own bidding war between the two SA Clubs, after playing about 6 unimpressive games for Brisbane.

Luckily for him, his performances have vindicated him

He wasn't even decent enough to do that, he named Port as his desired club. He's a joke.

Jesse was moving pretty well at training today, gave me the thumbs up when I asked how he's traveling.

You spoke to him?

Not a good idea. He'll be back to Perth now, and it'll all be your fault.

Wow.

Some serious nerves hit on this forum.

I'm just not a fan of some of the things Saty reports he says to the players.

Is that fair?

Or maybe I should now down at the altar of Satyricon like so many others..?

It's a difference of opinion.

Get over it.

I haven't met him but I love him. xxx

Fair call.

But I reckon Saty can fight his own battles.

You wouldn't want our players not to go in in defence of one of their own would you? So it should be on the forums as well :)

Don't worry Franky, when Jesse sees you walking down the road he won't recognize you as a Demonland poster - and one of the better ones at that!

Jesse will recognise your dog from your avatar Bob, he'll know your dog posts here! :)

My preference is that we wrap him up in mothballs and have him fresh and ready for Round 1, 2015.

My preference is that we play players that are in our best 22 if they're fit enough. End of story.

I'm with Elwood on this. If he's not ready to play VFL for another 6 weeks and needs a game or two at Casey, it's hardly worthwhile bringing him back for one or two games.

Wasn't Jack Grimes brought in for his first game late in his first or second year at the club? I reckon it was worthwhile for him WJ.

Don't know about that.

It's probably what I object to more than anything.

Saty might provide some decent input to this forum, and that should be commended.

It doesn't mean he's beyond any form of criticism, or that anyone that does should be labelled a "piranha" or as "eating their own."

End of the day, it's not even worth going on about.

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
