Hm ...... wonder if he's been trying to play with it.

What are we training on concrete or something?

Or could it have been the extra weight on the shoulders?

FMD.

This is a real shame, hopefully the year off will help him get completely over it and find the little bit of pace that made him a more complete player when he first came onto the scene

Might explain a bit.

Sad to hear.

I think he'll come back from this ok though.

So do I.

If anyone deserves a bit of good luck, he does.

I am very sorry for jack.

He's committed himself to us, and done his best in very tough circumstances.

He was a victim of a very poor decision to appoint him co-captain, but tried his heart out.

I wonder if this injury has taken a long time to declare itself, or be diagnosed. So many people have potted him for his running ability, and it's possible that this injury has slowed him down over the last year or two.

Perhaps it's related to the foot injury that required Danks's controversial cream.

Meanwhile it must have been distracting having the possibility of an ASADA interrogation hanging over his head for so long.....though I think he's been exonerated officially.

I wish him all the best for a complete recovery. He's a very impressive young man.

When's he out of contract just out of interest? The end of next year?

Sad news indeed and like Machsy I wonder if it has anything to do with this speed and acceleration issue we've all noticed over the past couple of seasons.

Sad news indeed and like Machsy I wonder if it has anything to do with this speed and acceleration issue we've all noticed over the past couple of seasons.

If it did it would have surely been picked up a lot earlier. If there was a crack or a fracture in the bone and it wasn't picked up for two years, there would have to be some serious questions asked.

I'm sorry to hear this news...here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery (and hopefully some extra zip!)

On the other hand, one door closes and another opens....maybe this is the little bit of luck that Nev Jetta needs to re-ignite his career...good luck to him.

Well it may explain a few things. I just hope he gets it right and comes back better next season. A year ago it would have been a disaster but with Cross, Tyson and Vince coming over at least we can cover him.

Posted

They should just rub some cream on it.

All jokes aside this is terrible news, in a way I hope this explains his recent struggles and that he can make a full recovery for 2015.

In all seriousness wasn't that the text that was sent?

Strangely I think its the best thing for him.

Can go away and forget about footy for a while and come back fresh and fit with the past well behind him.

Great bloke who put in hard for the club.

Maybe he and Mitch could go surfing, have a look at the real world. Could be good for both of them. Good luck Jack.

Poor bloke. Already having a hard enough time with form, last years injuries and the whole captaincy thing.

As a few others have already said I wonder if this is something he has been dealing with for a while, could explain a lot?

Lets hope he can now spend the time and get him self right and hopefully get back to becoming the player we all hoped we would be.

This may actually help take a lot of the pressure of expectation off him providing we are all patient with his recovery. Could come back better then ever... Here's hoping

I had the pleasure of having a long chat to Jack in Darwin 2 years ago. He was very well spoken and forthright - a most impressive young man. He seems very determined and of strong character. I have no doubt he will bounce back.

Anyone whose met him will attest to him being a ripping fella who deserves better luck than the run he has had.

Hopefully this is for the best and he comes back as that kid that excited everyone in his first year.

Here's hoping that this is a blessing in disguise, in that it allows him to get himself 100% fit and show what he's capable of.
