GAME DAY - ROUND THREE

Recommended Posts

Sitting here watching the game i always try and look for any positives i can when we lose and today i dont think i can find 1 positive out of this game. Not 1. Tyson was ok in 2 two quarters and dunn wasnt terrible. Thats as positive as it gets. How can we hope to win a game this year if we cant beat a depleted st kilda and gws? Anybody?

Our Percentage has improved. That's all i've got.

I think that may have been our last chance to win with this current line up.

Might change with Hogan and or Dawes back but i can't see us winning a game from here without either of them back and fully fit.

What happened to Blease today btw? Just an emergency it seems

Anyone who lists that lazy spud in their favourite players is clearly clueless with regards to football and as such has no right to say others have no idea

Actually, RGRS, I don't agree.

One of my favourite actors was Jack Elam. Cowboy movies, with the cast eye? I loved watching him. Never thought of him as a star, obviously.

I list Jakovich, Jurrah and Watts among my favourites. I'm willing to concede I am clueless, but I'd argue that getting a kick out of fascinatingly flawed characters is not proof of that cluelessness. I find interesting characters engrossing, and Sylvia was a tease for a long time. He never did, but there was always some grounds for supposing he might.

Don't be so hard on those true believers willing to admit they've had favourites based on hope, not hindsight!

Actually, Roos stated he is happy with the list.

He can't take that back now. It is his job to motivate the team. Emotion is a key ingredient.

It just amazes me that after 7-8 years of being down the bottom receiving good draft picks how truly bad our list is, Roos seriously needs to just completely start over, we need to cull over half the list. I'm not even angry anymore, it's getting to the stage were my interest levels are getting less and less....

Simply, this is the worst AFL/VFL team I've ever seen. Roos or no, they are unsupportable. Outgutsed, out run, out thought. I could say some savage things about so many of our players, but what's the point? I thought I'd get some hope, some reason, some encouragement to follow the Dees this year, but there just isn't one solitary sign, not ONE, to maintain any interest.

Frawley kicks a goal everyone celebrates , and then puts the cue in the rack, for the day.

Not enough will to win.

BBO, whilst I sometimes get caught in the emotion, I don't subscribe to the Henny Penny, the sky is falling art of football following.

And btw, there's an Alpaca Farm in Rye. passed I today.

Roos must stay for at least a 3 year tenure. He cannot possibly turn the list over and leave with a team/club he is content with after only 1 more draft period. I am sure prior to round 1 he was hoping he could do just that..but the reality is now there for him to see.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
