The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014

Seems like the medical staff are so cautious these days that, if the guy has a runny nose, he's put on ice as a precautionary measure, and told to rest for "two to three". Have to wonder if they've taken it just a tad too far...

were probably shooting for priority pick.....getting in early

once we get rid of that scoreboard it'll be a doddle

Heard Dawes will be at least 3 weeks. Continued pain after any form of exercise. Maybe we need to recruit another key forward in this years draft.

Maybe!

I would say certainly

Not another tanking inquisition.

Well it has all the signs Redleg

Playing players out of position

Players out for a week that turns into months

Three KPF' s kept on the side lines for weeks

Playing Pedersen and Byrnes continuously

Missing shots at goal from thirty metres out

Losing to St Kilda when every scribe in the land thought we should win.

Need I go on

Tanking for sure.

Wow I feel much better knowing we are not really trying this year.

Who is the best bet for pick no.1?

When will the MFC ever get a break???

We recruit 2 kpp pay $$$ ... Can't get them on the park!

Trade our early picks for Hogan ... Can't get him on the park!

We are Jinxed!

It does tend to look that way

I'd be lying if I said the key forward situation wasn't seriously starting to grate on me. I'm trying to be patient, trying very bloody hard, but it's just ridiculous the luck we've had.

At this stage, I'm leaning towards Dawes being a mistake.

So damn filthy at our luck with these guys. So much promise, sitting in the stands, or not even that.

End rant. Sorry fellas. Had a gutful atm. I think Saturday is still burning in my gut.

Tension Myositis Syndrome - that's whats causing both Dawes and Hogans issues. Always is, when, as Misso puts it... there are "symptoms" without a cause.

Unfortunately it's not accepted by traditional medicine and therefore they have to keep trying to fix what isn't broken.

Frustrating.

Geez it's bloody hard as a paid up member to hear this injury khrap every doom and gloom year.

Gutful of this with so called elite bloody athletes.

Gutful of club feeding members supporters garbage reports. Just tell the bloody truth.

In a very time crucial period for this club we have a non existent forward line, WTF is going on?

The Eagles can manage to keep all their talls on the park, WTF is this club doing so bad with its fitness program?

Patience is totally screwed with this.

From what Roos said in his pressor Gawn will be back, TMac out(won't come up from injury), Fitz to stay in and Viney another wk in the reserves.

Will c what happens at selection.

One things for sure I am not bothering with Missons reports, they r a waste of space.

Dawes is the only one I am confident we will see on the park any time soon of the trio we expected to be our star trio.

As such it's hard to call him a bust.

Clark as we all know is on the LTI, and Hogan...well, it's just 'us' - NSC strikes again!

It's going to be another very long year.

He's not a gamebreaker in any case. At his best he only scored 30 goals in a year. If he gets on the park it will give us a big target but he ain't no Mitch Clark that could kick65-70 in a season.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
