…and when Acres or Sheed or whoever we pick is taking the game apart for us we can let him know about it.

The one problem I have with some of the reporting on Kelly is the DH who said we had 2 chances to get him. Well technically that is correct but lets just see how he stacks up against Hogan who we did take in his place the first chance.

That DH is Denham.

It wouldn't surprise me if we chose someone else completely. Very little information has been getting out in the last few months, so I think there's a bit of guesswork in relation to the phantom drafts for out pick. Most has been based on us needing speed, therefor we must be after Freeman or Salem.

Acres has been very much off the radar of casual draft watchers due to injury, but those who have seen him rave about him. I hope he's the one we read out at 9.

Surely the only benefit in any bluffing would be to get Collingwood to take someone at 6 who they thought would be available at 10 because we wanted to try and insert someone into the draft ahead of us.

It would be surprising if Acres was a consideration to either there so I'm struggling to see the point.

No ones talking about bluffing, just that we might not pick who the media and so called draft experts think we will.

How many Demonlanders have seen these kids play? And subsequent to that, how many of the Demonlanders who have seen these kids play are good judges of a footballer?

It goes without saying, posters here are all excellent judges of footballers.

Yes to the first, and a somewhat biased yes to the second.

Regardless, I'm fairly certain Demonland will embrace whoever is chosen at pick 9…and swiftly call for their castration shortly after the first time their turnover leads to an opposition goal.

Denham slammed us in the paper for trading a Brownlow medallist in Kelly. He has him already winning one. He says every other club's recruiter says we were mad with our trade. That is not the case, as I spoke to another official of another club whose recruiter disagrees and doesn't have Kelly in his best three mids. Another trashing of us by Denham.

If we were already around 7th or 8th on the ladder & rising, maybe we would have held onto P2?

but we're not & we need more quality depth with some years experience, than just one more 18 Yr old.

now we'll get an 18 Yr old, & have Tyson as well. this is the way to fast track our restocking of the list with quality.

these journo's are in paper print for a reason, because they're not in demand in the running of clubs. they make up stories suitable for the fiction dept'.

Koldasnij... Kolaedoscopeshij, Collidosnaj...

Scrabble.

But only if we can get both of them. I invoke the Feebey Rule.

If there's no K-schnizzle available, then I'd be keen on Freeman, or Salem, or Aish, or Bontempelli, or Sheed, or Lennon, or Taylor. Not sure about Crouch - I get too confused, there are too many of them around at the moment.

Blurting that list out is a great illustration of the wisdom of going 2 to 9. We will get a quality midfielder, one or another.

Demonland in 2012 wanted Ollie Wines ... and his form warranted that in 2013.

Freeman seems to be our pick in 2014

Majority of Demonland preferred Toumpas over Wines pre-draft. That all changed round 1.

That's entirely correct RF Most wanted Toumpas, some on here were trashed by others for stating the obvious that Wines was ready to go and was what we needed at that time A bit like Martin over Trengove!

Most of these journalists would have lauded Richmond endlessly for a masterstroke had they been able to prize Tyson away from GWS at the end of last 2012. The annoying thing is Barrett and Denham, in particular, can't even get there head around the fact that that the trade wasn't a straight swap of Tyson for Pick 2, nor do they even go close to examining where Tyson would be drafted in this year's draft pool if he was in it, which is one of the the important considerations when assessing the trade before the materials of it have had a chance to play. Tyson could very easily have been picked high in the top 10 given his attributes in this draft pool. Kelly is class so the likelihood is a win-win for both clubs.

Haven't we been burnt enough in the past by undersized skinny players. Salem might never grow into his body

I like him because he is a quick thinker, a very good mover, is balanced and can get the ball moving to the boot in the blink of an eye and it goes where intended. He also has that fast twitchy elastic movement that enables him to change direction quickly. I see this skill set transferring very well to the senior AFL game, better than most. I think his skill set will hold up.

He is also strong and hits the ball at speed and keeps his balanced. I could see him at half back until he finishes his apprenticeship before moving. As for body shape he is exactly the size an 18 year old mid should be.

Work ethic and his willingness to compete can't be fully gauged from watching a couple of games and some highlights.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
