Ha. I'm with you HH. When I heard rumours about the Dees looking at Shane Savage I almost choked. And then he thinks he's too good to play for us. I would suggest Savage have an interest in ANY club that may look at him cause he's a bench warmer at Hawthorn. Enjoy Box Hill Shane.

I love how people crack the shits with Savage nominating his club of choice calling him spud etc yet if he nominated us he would be hailed as a superstar.

Just because he doesn't nominate us mean its the end of the world. Just remember one thing. We are NOT a very attractive destination..

I agree with what you're saying DD, however I'm suprised he nominated Carlton.

Personally I don't see him in their 22 if they were injury free. One of the first emergencies yes, but not in their 22. If he came here he'd be starting FP, HFF or Wing.

Odd decision for someone looking to further their career IMO.

Yeah im surprised aswell TD but I don't understand the hate for someone that doesn't choose. But like I said its not the end of the world and too be honest I can see Brent Prismall all over again with him going to carlton.

Would be a decent replacement for Betts I would have thought.

.

Is there 1 player mentioned in trade week that Carlton has said they are not interested in?

Who a player nominates as a preferred destination means Jack shite.

The clubs will trade to suit themselves. He will go where the best option is for Hawthorn.

Off to the Saints apparently...

Sounds like he is coming with their first round pick to the Saints, in return for McEvoy. (Rumour on SEN atm)

More than a rumour, done deal.

Hawks amazing work to get McEvoy.

Yup, good deal for both I would have thought. Tom Hickey looks like he can take the mantle as the main ruckman, they get Savage and another first round pick

Hawks must have thought Longer was not attainable I guess.

Hawks paid overs...

But this is exactly the point I raised elsewhere. In order to get what YOU want ( insert club ) you go about it to suit yourselves. Its irrelevant what external judges place upon a draft pick's value. its what you want, what suits you. We need to do exactly the same

I wonder what this means for the longer trade... surely that can't get done now?

these clubs , like Hawthorn, find a way. Annoying

Paid through the nose because that is what they need. Roughhead out of the ruck.

We need a while mess of things so we can't entertain that sort of deal.

And young Billy Longer? Where are your jibes now son?

Talk to other clubs because you are not going to Hawthorn now.

That's a pretty good deal for both parties I think. It's the way trades should be done: identify your target, cough up a fair price, do the trade. It's the way Sydney have traded for years. The alternative is the Essendon approach of try and screw the opposition over as much as possible then moan and complain when all the other clubs tell you to shove it up your jumper.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
