Amazing this thread has so quickly turned to a debate on priority picks and "I'm a better supporter than you are."

Wasn't this about Brett Allison?

Anyway, I always thought he looked like a bloke you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

Heard he's a quality coach and a quality bloke too. A good appointment.

Looks like he's about to kill Brayshaw in this picture

He played the way I would like to see Howe develop into. Great motor, goal sense, skills and can take a speccy.

Aus media really needs to start differentiating North Melbourne "Roos" and Paul "Roos", because sometimes I see "Roos" in a headline and get excited, only for it to be about North Melbourne, and then see an article from the same publication with "Roos" and it's about Melbourne *faceplam*

Welcome Brett Allison.

He took one of the best marks I've ever seen at the G against us. Got up really high. From memory the game wasn't covered well and the highlight wasn't the best vision. But it was a mark for the ages.

On the topic of the Priority Pick. I'll back the AFL to make the rightful decision. The criteria is there and many spokespersons for the AFL have stated the application is a very strong argument. If you take the 2013 season alone, it would have to raise an eye brow or two in relation to performance on/off the field for the AFL. Alarming I'd suggest. Despite what has taken place prior to 2013.

And if people are concerned about POV of opposition supporters....tough cookies.

Other clubs do give a damn about us, but they think it would be unfair for us to receive a PP because of our own wrong doings in the past. It's completely fair enough if you look at it in it's entirety, yet so many don't.

If it were another club trying to weed one out of the AFL for the same reason, demonland would be up in arms.

It's hard to get a PP because of your right doings. You have to stuff up to get one. Bartlett talks about being ruthless, even when asking for assistance I see no problem. The other 17 clubs aren't going to hand us anything when we are fixed, why not try when we are broken.

But mainly we have several PP threads. This shouldn't be another.

I really like how North get spacing between Petrie, Tarrant and Black. They often get one of one contests despite being 3 bigs in one forward line. That's something we need to work on.

Also to say Allison was poached from North is a bit rich. I think he's making a calculated decision that if he stays at North and they don't improve then Scott (who will be hard to sack because his contract has been extended) will be forced to turn over assistants. Where as by coming to Melbourne he now has either a 2 or 3 year deal I'd suggest and good job security as well as plenty of opportunities to develop players.

I wonder as well if Allison signing on has any inside info on the senior assistant. Maybe his old team mate Adam Simpson? Or is that too much conspiracy theory.

I have for seven years wanted other clubs to hate us not pity us.

If this is the start then great my the hate roll on in huge waves.

I don't care if they say we are the AFL darlings.

AS the winning tally mounts I will love every second.

They can say whatever they like.

Tough guys!

Brett Allison, welcome. Loved the way he went about it as a player. Determined with a massive work-rate.

PP's are only for external wrong-doings? kk. Every club can hand their PP players back then.

Someone goes out of their way to provide some inside information and even though it isn't exactly groundbreaking you need to be a smartass about it?

Thanks... you saved me posting the same thing! It's little wonder that there are so many posters with so few posts on this site, who prefer to observe from the sidelines.

Er, welcome to Brett Allison...we will judge you based on stupid points that make little sense so enjoy that.

The PP discussion can be elsewhere surely, unless Allison is considered Assistance?

I guess he is an Assistant coach brought by a head coach a quarter paid by the AFL...

Good appointment.

Now that the delisted forward coach has been replaced.

Surely our delisted midfield coach must be replaced very soon.

I wonder who.

I can't deny that I'm a little bit happy about us stealing things from North Melbourne. They are a pack of whingers and they make my blood boil.

Also welcome Brett, I'm sure you're awesome because everything Roos does right now is covered in gold and roses.

Hey OD - seems like your dark cloud is starting to lift - and unless I am mistaken can I also detect the beginning of a little thing called optimism ?

Good appointment.

Now that the delisted forward coach has been replaced.

My understanding - but can't remember or find where I read it - is that Allison is to work in development, which is what he previously did under/with Roos at the Swans. I don't know that he's our new forward coach.

Nice move though, always great to be proactive, and having good people coming to the club sends a positive message.

North are chasing Tudor, also.

I'd love for him to come to us, leaving them with... Neeld.

Ha! That would be great! I would love to see the look on Gysberts face if that happened

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
