And Fitzy is coming on in leaps and bounds with the opportunity. Which begs the question what will happen to Fitzy if and when Clark comes back next year. I can't see the point of having two 200cm forward/ruckmen in the same forward line. We need a short speedy forward pocket not another 200cm player. Going to be a tough call in the next two years or so.

Certainly hope Dawes produces something better than last weekend or maybe he'll be the one not to get a game once Hogan is there. There's a lot of players to fit into that forward line if Clark comes good and some are going to have to miss out. Not a bad problem to have for once.

Or maybe Hogan is the one to miss out?

Just because he's the great white hope, his form has to warrant him getting a game.

And let's face it, none of Dawes, Clark, Fitzpatrick or Hogan are going to be available at the one time as we are such an injury prone club.

I would only trade Fitz for a quality midfielder or classy goal kicking small forward

The question is whether he is pain free after training. I am sure he won' t play again this year. No need to anyway.

Yeah, would be stupid to even consider playing him this year, infact i think they have stated that he won't regardless of what else happens, but the fact he is running again is a huge step forwards imo.

I think you're right, I don't believe he was rushed backed last time and this won't be any different.

Extremely unlikely.

This isn't like a hamstring tear where scar tissue can create a weakness.

Clark will be fine.

The club is just being overly cautious because of how important he is.

I spoke to Misso last week. He says there is no issue with the injury. He'll be 100%. The mid season problem was apparently caused by a screw moving and rubbing against a toe. This was causing too much pain to continue so it had to be removed. It wasn't actually a complication with the injury itself. Apparently he's going as expected after the surgery. They are just being conservative so he's ready to go for the pre season.

Like I said, Clark will be fine.

It's normal to have a bit of pain for a good few months after having a screw removed, as bone grows where the screw was.

Kinda like mild arthritis.

But structurally the lisfranc is sound.

Just cautiously letting it heal completely and rebuilding his fitness after over a year off.

Cautious is good.

Clark who?

Sorry, been so long I nearly forgot who he was. ;).

You Know Moonshadow Works at the Daily planet newspaper.

Think his last name is Kent.

I would hope that he is being handled very very carefully in his running program.

He is such a vital player to us, we can't afford any risk of aggravation.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
