Chris Judd at one point near the end was about $1.33 with one agency to come to Melbourne

Betting markets like this are for imbeciles

Sometimes it's a bad sign more so than a good one.

I wouldn't read too much into the betting plunge, because more often than not it's betting agencies setting up the casual punter.

These agencies really are the lowest form of scum that we have around, they would sell their own mothers these blokes.

U could throw some commentators and journos into that mix too 316.

I am really lost with the garbage about not being able to talk to people until after the season. It really is crap - we appointed Neeld while Collingwood were still playing finals. If Williams or Eade want the job, they will talk to PJ and however is left of our board as soon as possible. Then they would be actively starting to plan for their tenure. They all have openings in their contracts regarding senior positions. Seriously the person who takes the role should be going hell for leather to get a senior role not waiting to be contacted on the off chance.

Can I just point out that, ironically, our hiring of Neeld was the prime reason for this new rule.

Eddie blew a fuse when we rattled their flag defence in 2011.

Can't interview with other teams until their season is over.

How workable is it?

I don't know? How big are the fines?

does a cup of coffie count as an interview? surely there would be ways around it

Did anyone watch on the couch? Did Roos say anything?

I don't have foxtel unfortunately so I couldn't watch

He talked us up.

Said we have a nice forward line and a back line, with very good KPP's at both ends.

Just needed to sort the midfield.

He said we have the talent and a good base to work from.

Not really.............Gerard asked him tongue in cheek about the betting plunge, and what did Roos know about it, and he just laughed it off and said nothing has changed since last week.

When they talked about the game later in the show, Roos rattled off Frawley, MCDonald, and Garland saying we had a solid backline combined with Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Watts up forward, and it was really just the mids that need work.

Mike said to him something about Roos having looked over the list, and again Roos just laughed it off.

I've thought since he was originally asked about the job, and refused to categorically rule himself out that we will get him, and after watching him again tonight, I still think we will.

He's on the couch with two MFC supporters, they must be into him to take the job!

I don't think he's interested at all. Robbo on 360 made a comment along the lines of he'd know where his money would go if he was a betting man but didn't give a name. It wasn't Roos that's for sure.

I don't take Roos not denying interest as a positive.

Even if he knows he has no intention of taking the job, I'm sure he'd enjoy the attention, the courting and then inside info he might glean by being involved in the race.

I do think he will take the job though, after we have a board and a GMFO in place, and a priority pick has been confirmed.

$500 on Neil Craig as Senior Coach in 2014.

After watching that I'm no more convinced than I was a few weeks ago. Still confident we have him and it's all a very well orchestrated charade.

Roos finished by saying that he thought there were some really good elements of Melbournes game that have not been properly exposed over the last couple of years. He said there's certainly some positives there.

Mark Williams will be the MFC coach 2014. Feel free to bet the farm. You heard it here first :)

Not sure about that.

Rumours are he would not work with Neil Craig because of their Adelaide days, and it would be a disgrace if we gave Craig the flick just to satisfy Williams ego.

They are just rumours of course.

I am very confident that one of Roos, Williams, Eade, or Craig will be head coach next year.

Not exactly going out on a limb there ... it's a bit like saying Rudd or Abbott will be the next PM!

James Hird.

That's all.

Wish thinking Stuie.

What one person said and did is not actually relevant to what someone else may do in similar circumstances.

That's not to say Roos may not ultimately be our head coach, but to say he could be simply because Hird ruled it out at some point in time and then ultimately took the gig is the stuff of the shock jock world.

IMO Roos will either take the gig or not based on his personal circumstances - and I suspect, at this point in time, something needs to change on that front.

He is not a facsimile of James Hird.

Did The Sloth actually say that his money wouldn't be on Roos?

Having watched OTC last night, I'm even more convinced that we will get Roos. If he was playing poker, I'd be quietly confident that he had a couple of aces in his hand.

Disclaimer: I thought Scully was going to stay and that, as much as I wasn't a fan, believed Neeld would see out 2013. In other words - put your money on Williams!

I was more thinking Primus, that article the other day was an elaborate ruse, taking the spotlight further away from him.

I have no doubt this thread kicked off all the media speculation yesterday.

Demonland- keeping [censored] journalists employed since 2006.

My point was that we will be coached by an experienced AFL coach with a flag or a winning record.

That is not something we could have said in 07 or 11.

I had no idea so much imbecile could be fit into one statement.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
