I agree. I don't really rate his as a development coach - he basically took over a side that had already made a grand final under Rocket. But he is like Malthouse - will keep going until he fails and realises he is fallible.

Roos took over in 2002, Eade coached them to a granny in 1996

I doubt there was many, if any players from that 1996 team that were there when Roos won his flag

the 3 words ROOS used that gives us a bit of hope....."at the moment".... I don't want to coach

Show Paul a coaching and development model that ensures he is supported ad the story might get better for us.

Gerard did ask Bomber the same question, "in the right situation, would you coach Melbourne" Bomber said no halfway though the question, then straight away as the question was finished.

So we put him in the 'Possibles' pile?

I wouldn't hold out much hope for the Clarkson/Roos options...

But it is good to know that we are looking at Eade as a fallback.

I really don't want to go down the untried coach path again. I think it gives this group a lovely place to hide.

Robbo said that John Ralph has spoken to Roos tomorrow's paper and this time he did not categorically say he would not coach Melbourne next year.

It's f'ing PARTY TIME

The only one I can think of off the top of my head who played in both Grand Finals is Michael O'Loughlin

After watching 'On The Coach'.........Roos is in.

Whoever comes in will need unconditional, unequivocal, 110% support.

Thanks heavens we've got a Jonesy, Wattsy, Clarky, Dawesy, etc :)

What gave you that opinion Jumbo, would not be surprised if he did PJ gutting the club would be music to his ears as a first stage.

It was that he wasn't definitive in saying 'no.'

'At the moment...' is as cryptic as it comes.

Also, Robbo mentioned that Tony Sheahan twittered that Roos would coach the Dees in 2014. At the time, Roos said, no.....not this time.

Just watched the Capper interview. What a blast. What a lunatic. Love the guy.

I've never seen a more obvious case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder than Warwick Capper.

I haven't caught up with OTC but if the programme follows its standard formula (a la James Hird a few years ago) then the panel has a good conversation filler for every second show for the remainder of the season. I could write the script now.

Love Robbo because unlike other journo's he has actual sympathy for us and never sticks the boot into us! I have seen David King and that other [censored] Mclure lay it into us and you will always find Robbo sticking up for us, pointing to the little positives. For an Essendon supporter too he isn't biased like some other people in the media.

I agree completely. Didn't used to think very highly of Robbo. But, this year he has been the shining light in the media in his empathy for Neeld, the players and, indeed, the enitire MFC. I've been very impressed.

Really loved it when he looked straight into the camera last night and stuck it right up Beamer.

Well done, Robbo!

In James McDonald

Out Brian Royal

As midfield coach not senior obviously

Why is everyone wanting McDonald in as midfield coach? What are his credentials? Not as a footy person etc but as a coach?

We have inexperienced assistants already.

I love how "he didn't say no" equates to dancing bananas (and believe me, I felt the same). I can't wait to see the reaction when we get some actual, real good news.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
