Scott Thompson

Darren Jolly ( premierships at two different teams )

Brock Mclean

Jared Rivers only a few games so far but was listed in their best ever game he played

Is that enough for you Soidee?

Rivers ? In at least two of the few games he's played he was carted off by the trainers. DNF !

I like Rivers, hope he recovers quickly & has success with the Cats. But you are dead-set blowing smoke up his arse OD

Didak won't be at the Pies, last year of his contract. Ha who knows maybe Dids will be at the Dees...

If I may play devils advocate it just seems a little coincidental to me that this rumor comes out a couple days after Melbourne make enquiries to extend Col's contract.

Sounds like the classic case of Col's own manager putting this rumor out there to increase his clients income.

And as has been stated, Col's a very loyal person to the Dees and I for one would be suprised if he walked.

Whilst we're posting these sort of photos, why not dig up this beauty? Ahh the Melbourne Football Club at it's best... LOL

Travis Johnstone?... just joking.

I know I will get some hate for this but what about Brock McLean? Playing better at Carlton than he did with us.

Bruce, Miller, Johnstone, Petterd, $cully - all on par or worse.

what about Scott Thompson from Adelaide, absolute gem

This is tiring. It's players like Colin that are supposed to make us a good team. Not play well when other players do the hard work for him.

I hear the same thing about Watts, Blease and others. How about these players actually deliver and who knows we might just be a good team.

& this is the old culture thats been around us for a while, & grew disproportionately around the time Brock & Sylvia arrived.. the years we Yo Yo'd up & down was it seems a time when we lost our intensity, after which time the more skilled senior players got lazy.

Scott Thompson. In the best every week.

exactly, very professional. & wasn't there a rumour going around 2 seasons back, that he wanted to come bacK?

Put a three year contract in front of him that he can't refuse, he is vital.

It will be an interesting study of Col's character in some ways. Yes, it's the professional era which player managers have interpreted to mean having no loyalty to anything but the big bucks, but in most sides Col would have bee offloaded long ago because of his back problems. Melbourne stuck with him for years and finally figured out a way to get him playing regular football. I have to wonder if that fact will enter into his thought process or if the lure of a flag will have more value to him.

I would be disappointed in the extreme if Sylvia left this club.

He is an absolute must retain player. A bit of a litmus test for Neeld actually.

I reckon our best chance of retaining Sylivia is if Neeld isn't coaching next year.

Sure, he just might feel like he owes the club something but I doubt he feels owes Neeld anything at all.

He contributed no effort, was injured and was home sick. Great player but wasnt that hard to improve ;)

You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink!

Would like to keep him but don't want the clubs pants pulled down in the process. Extension of Chips contract is a priority.

This is a strange article considering Frawley is contracted!?

We may aswell close the doors if we trade him early and don't back ourselves in the retain him next year.

not strange if he wants out

the longer we keep Neeld the more players will want to leave

agreed, but either way, He has to decide if he's going to be 'In It' here for the True Lifting of the club. Or If he wants to continue a Las Vegas lifestyle.

He has to commit 110% for the remainder of his career with Us or go Now... No 50/50's... not 2Yrs here, & 2 elsewhere.

He has to pull the finger out, for the remainder of his career, of he'll be hindering the Club from Ever getting out of this 45 Yr Rut...

If he (chip) wants out, then GCSuns may have a deal up their sleeve...

If Chip wants out, & they are desperate for Frawley,,, then I'd want Dion Prestia & Aaron Hall + their end of Rnd1, compensatory pick...

Based on what? After a poor showing when Neeld arrived her was told to pull his head in. He did, and has trained hard since, was promoted to the leadership group last year I think (May be wrong) but Neeld has been full of praise for him. Under Neeld Col has played his best and most consistent footy.

What knowledge do you base your comments on other than the current "sack Neeld or the players will walk" hyperbole?

hes a free agent, he will be linked to everyone by seasons end

Hope he stays, we can ill afford to lose another senior hardened body

Suxh a shame that his attitude didnt harden along the way What a waste of ability and years

You use every thread, regardless of the topic, as a way to slip in a snide remark about Neeld.

Tiresome. And repetitive.

I heard he wanted out last year along with moloney but still under contract. Only scuttlebutt but from a fairly reliable source. Ive been prepared for him leaving this year since then. Sure he is maligned, but we can't afford to lose a raft of senior players on a yearly basis. I shudder to think of what over the hill spud Neeld would replace him with.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
