Grimes - future A grader (More consistant game time and he will be one of the top players in the comp)

Blease - play the percentages (Sam tries to thread the needle too much at times, tries for the impossible, with experience he could become anything)

Watts - he can play (time for the critics to get off his back)

Neeld - resolve under pressure (no honeymoon period for the coach, he has stood up well. Will take us a long way, hopefully to the ultimate prize)

Grimes was doing a little more than sweeping in the final quarter - He hit every contest at 100 miles per hour.

Overall pretty spot on wrap JoeBoy

Welcome back JoeBoy. I have missed your excellent input. I don't always agree but most times you are spot on.

Excellent analysis 'joeboy' . Hard to argue with any of it . Trengove was much better - his last quarter was terrific . Howe picked up 24 possessions in another solid performance . All our players made contributions .

Has no doubt been told to take the game on. Doesn't yet have the confidence. He will get better and better. Is only 5 or 6 games into a career.

That quote reminds me of Travis Johsntone. Hopefully Blease will turn out to be more consistent than TJ.

Trav won many games for our team . If Blease wins half as many games for our team in his career as Johnno we'll have done very well .

Judging a player on his draft number is wrong IMO . Travis didn't ask to be picked no.1 . Same as Watts . These blokes are 18 years old when drafted and totally under-developed .

If you went through every draft since it's inception you would put all the players in a totally different order . Every single time . The draft always turns out to be a guide only - it's miles away from being an exact science .

If you had TJ at pick 15 or 20 we'd all be falling over ourselves at how much of a bargain we got .

Melbourne Football Club - Played finals-like football.

Neeld was spot on when he said contested, hard football wins you finals. We saw a brand of football on Saturday night that will win finals...one day!

Blease effective? 6/12 disposals were clangers

This was his worst game of his career sorry.

He won't be writing to his grandparents about it but he was bold and brave for a quarter and racked up the touches until Dustin Flecther remembered how much of a [censored] he likes to be and kneed him while he was on the ground.

And he has been a ghost at times, Sam. It was good to see him be bold and brave - we need that.

Noddy (our nickname, Nephew of (our) Dentist) was so nearly brilliant IF ONLY his kicks had travelled just that little bit further!

Haven't seen the clumsy nasty Fletcher for a while, thought he was playing out his career nicely.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
