Frank Adams exit stage left (1964), Sam Blease enter stage right (2011).

And, possibly, number #6 may become available for another star ranga in 2012 ??????

Not sure that he is quite as quick (relative, 2010s vs 1950s) as Frank Bluey, multi Premiership player, but pretty bloody fast.

Pretty sure Blease will be holding out for no. 17, and that will also be why it has been warehoused for the last few seasons.

Yep, Sam wore 17 in juniors and his late father also wore the number.

It holds quite a lot of significance for him, but obviously the club wanted him to earn it too.

Stoked for Blease. Slightly off topic, does anyone know what his nickname is? I've started calling him Geez, as that is what I kept saying every time he took off for another blistering run up the guts :)

I call him Engrish, aka Sam Breeze, cause he's as fast as the wind

I thought it's announced Tuesday?

Yeah wheres the confirmation? I thought it was announced Tuesday morning? I would of thought competition would be stiff this week with Butcher and Gunston playing good games as well.

The boys at the club call him the extremely original 'Sauce'.

Herald Sun had him listed in their team of the round!

Considering his setback his done well just to actually win a spot in the seniors let alone contribute the way he has. Love watching him play

I like that he took his destiny in to his own hands:

"I was never going to get anywhere if I was double-guessing myself so I took it upon myself and thought I need to see someone because I can't keep playing like this, I'm not going to get anywhere."

See Sam

See Sam run ( geez he's quick )

See Sam kick ( he can he can )

Congratulations Sam, well deserved.

Well done Sam Blease. Some satisfaction and reward for his hard work to get back.

I'd like to see Brett Lovett present him with the "17" if it has been 'warehoused' for him. The run off half back by Lovett from down back and his shrugging of his hips to evade tacklers was great stuff to watch. I really liked Brett Lovett as a footballer.

Some have described Blease as 'cocky' and 'sure of himself' - I like that in a footballer. Air of confidence is a breath of fresh air for this team.

I'm a big fan of the 'stuff you, I'll take you on and win' mentality.

Will he be eligible to win rising star in 2012?

Loved the cries of 'BLEEEEEEASE' everytime he got the footy on saturday too. Started with only a couple of blokes, by the 4th everyone in my bay was doing it. Like the old cries of 'ooooze' when Yze used to get it..

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
