  1. What if these franchises had stayed in theses cities? They would end up like North Melbourne and where the demons were a short time ago. In all honesty, what private owner would want to own a franchise in Greater Western Sydney. The private owners would go to places where they could around 25000 people to every game, given the population of Australia this can't be too high.
  2. The comparison of AFL to EPL is ridiculous, the wealthier clubs in the EPL will always have success because they is no salary cap, meaning the clubs with the most money can pay the players more. I like the comparison the the NFL, however it could never be the same with the bulk of the AFL being from a single city. However another one of the biggest cities in the USA, LA, doesn't have a franchise. The only city that has multiple teams in the NFL is New York, with the Giants and Jets, who surprisingly share a stadium. I like the idea of of private owners, but can't see it happening in Australia. Unless there are team owners who can get attendances in small cities, like your Jacksonville Jaguars, who just were sold for US$660 million, Green Bay is a great example, Tampa Bay another city that most would not have heard of, St Louis the 58th most populated city in the USA. Point is for a team to be profitable, and therefore appealing, to wealth businessmen is to get good attendances to games from smaller cities.
  3. I thought collingwood's mid field did nothing until the last quarter and even then they just got a good few clearances, but thats collingwood a few quick goals will destroy a team. Hawks missed easy goals in front all night, and were too dependent on Buddy in the first half.
  4. Tom Harley will be out of a job, seeing that ch10 no longer will have any coverage. Premiership captain as a back. Would love to have him at the demons
  5. I don't think the club could go wrong with Burns, Neeld or Sanderson.
  6. Do the MFC get 2 first rounders for compensation? Will they be 2 end of first round mid first round? Would the team with pick 1 in the 2012 draft consider trading 3 first round picks for the number one pick and MFC pick up Jack Viney with it's second round pick?
  7. Will he be eligible to win rising star in 2012?
  8. Unfortunately Addam is just too slow, playing him off half back means that he would have to man up on someone for most of the game and would he get flogged by most small forwards. Bit of a shame to someone with as good a kick as he does to go to waste.
  9. Fair point, I had it in my head that they club would have had a complete reset this week and would be starting a clean page.
  10. Today was one of those days where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Everything from an absolute freak injury to balls just bouncing to opposition. The football god's were not with us today, but they will come around.
  11. Before remembering that Jack Watts is only a year older than Darling and has a much smaller frame.
  12. Let's not read into it too much, how many of these teams have been top 8 since he started coaching? Geelong, St Kilda, Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs and Carlton. Realistically, the only team that the MFC should have beaten, but haven't beaten that they should have is North Melbourne.
