These are some of the best words I've read in a very long time: "doctors say, Stynes is winning his remarkable battle for life".

Jimmy, you are simply an extraordinary human being.

An amazing man...keep goin Jimmy

On a side note, the Herald Sun need a new editor. Stynes wining remarkable battle for life.

Would have thought they could spell "winning" correctly, hell Charlie Sheen seems to mention it a bit.

Good on ya jim.were behind you all the way mate!

I am really, really happy that Jimma is now tumour free, but it's a battle for the rest of his life, not just his life itself.

I salute the big man for the way he has dedicated himself to others while fighting his own battle so publically, and wish him nothing but love and (fingers crossed) clear scans with no more tumours going forwards. Getting an all-clear for now is one massive hurdle down.

Fight on mate. We're here with you too.

Hey, it wasn't all good news... I notice that the specialist said Jimmy wouldn't be up and dancing with Olivia Newton John anytime soon. Hang on...

If the boys show 5% of Jimmy's courage and determination tonight then the game is a foregone conclusion.Essendon might as well not show up!

Took the words right out of my mouth, he continues to be an inspiration. The boys could definitely take a lot from his fighting spirit.

What an absolute inspiration he is, even for those who don't love footy. Anyone I speak to who has even heard of him comments on the courage and determination he has shown through his fight. He shows all of us a better way to be, and the world is better for it. Keep fighting champ.

Great news.

Hope to see him and his family enjoying a Dees win soon.

An inspiration to all footy followers.

Good to hear he has at least some vision - it must have been scary to go into the operation knowing that you could come out of it without the ability to see.

I'm wondering if he'll be there tonight to present Gawn no.37, Jimmy's first jumper...?

According to Max he did it before the op.

It should be made mandatory in all dictionaries and encyclopaedias to have a picture of Jim Stynes next to the word ... "Courage".

Or better yet, when a firefighter risks his life rescuing 42 people and a cat from a burning building, he will be said to have "pulled a Stynesy."

Keep on punching Jimma. Hopefully that's the last of the little bastards outta there mate.

Haha like it. In fact just go one step further and remove the word courage from the dictionary and hereby label that particular quality "Stynes".

ie. Nadal showed immense Stynes there coming back from two sets down.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
