Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well, probably a slightly more positive note to end on than last year. Liked a few of the younger players, Kent in particular showed a bit more maturity and cool-headedness than what we've seen so far. Now just need that to rub off on a few of the others. A bit sad that our better players were the imports: Vince, Cross, Tyson, even Mitchie and Riley.

The first half was a tough contest, the third quarter was a blowout, and the last quarter was (in my opinion) an entertaining shootout/goal fest.

Even when we were good, we were marred by poor skills. As I said in the match day thread though, I can suffer that so long as the intent seems okay.

Key learnings: North are pretenders and Brad Scott is the most dislikeable bloke in footy.

Nice to see the intent was back.

We won't get out of the bottom 4 if we can't lift our skills though.

I officially do not give a dam about the 2014 footy season from now.

Now you can go scuba diving!

Who do u support S?

Cross? So I know how you blokes feel I have had a membership there for over 35 years but gave up watching them a few years back. Taking an interest in MFC this year has actually been cathartic. Must admit I have watched more Casey games than AFL games.

Melbourne have two types of players:

1) Can get the ball or is hard at the ball but can't kick.

2) Can't get the ball or is softand can kick.

Nathan Jones, Tyson and Vince are probably the only ones who can regularly do both.

EDIT: I'll add Jetta and Dubn into that category too.

Good onya mate, but I've got some sad news for you. You own an MFC membership and are on DL - that's a supporter! :)

More a lurker. But I mean it I love the passion on this forum. Just stop squabbling with each other. I have 5 older sisters and sometimes this site has been like when they all used to sync up. You are all behind the MFC and thats a good thing.

Was a bit weird seeing Frawley slink off the ground with his head down.

Guilt will do that to anyone in his shoes. Thanks Chip, but you have let your club down this year, no doubt you will resurrect your career at your new club next year !

I'll try to be more objective now. [censored] off Frawley so we can get pick 3! Kent is a keeper. McKenzie is not! Dunn has regressed! Howe was lazy! N Jones was not as effective as we need! M Jones is not clean enough! Watts played well, just not well enough 1 on 1. Jetta close to Bluey for me. McDonald close to our best! I hope Riley doesn't insist on always being that dumb!

Love it. Maybe the club can come out with a 'lurker's membership pass', where you are allowed to go as far as the inside race of the G and peep through the gate :)

Respect

Why?

He's probably muttering to himself "thank god I am outta here".

Well I was always a fan and it feels strange to think this was the last time I will most likely see him in the red and blue. Just being a bit sentimental that's all.....

It was good to see the team fight it out far better than previous games, Kent has obviously understood the message from the coach to pass it to someone in a better position when you can instead of blazing away. Dunn, well was pretty poor today, did not seem to have any run, or fire, just a lot of pent up anger. Dawes, loved his aggression he was the only one who seemed to try to fire the team up. Those who say he costs us 4 or 5 goals, really, he may have turned the ball over a few times (but who didnt) the ball still had to be carried past a lot of melbourne players who didnt do their job for north to score. Riley love his endeavor but unless he can improve his delivery he is unlikely to get too many more games. Watts another watts like effort, did some good things didnt do a lot of others. Frawley bye mister chips, i hope todays performance did not devalue you too much. Jetta good game, fitzy tried and did pretty well. Now I can rest until trading starts and my hopes again rise like the phoenix to only crash and burn again next year like the dodo.

Good post ww. I concur about dunn. He has been average last six weeks. Crawley - who I reckon has been OK - took a lot of short steps tonight. If that's his last game for us he's lost some respect in my eyes

A fairly comfortable loss against North's B team who barely looked like they cared. An abysmal third quarter which ended up being the difference.

The basic skill errors just defy belief some of the time. Clean those up and we close that final margin and then some.

Several players who should be depth at the absolute best, and until they are we're going nowhere.

Watts did an alright job of placing himself in the shop window with a couple of nice passages of play. Hopefully his suitors shut their eyes when he refused to put his head over the ball and jogged behind opponents.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
