Well our 2 helped us win a flag. I can live with that. If you want to employ hindsight, you could look at Weid when McKay and Curnow were still available. Every draft will throw up the “what ifs”.9 points

I've always really liked Brisbane. They have been my second team for as long as I've followed footy, and have always found their fans to be down to earth, knowledgeable and pleasant. This thread just proves it. Everything they've said is correct. Nothing over the top, happy Gawn is out but also acknowledge injuries are never nice to see. Not writing us off or big noting themselves, which they have every right to given they are 1st on the ladder. If we lose the flag to anyone, I would be happiest if it's to one of Brisbane or Freo. Just PLEASE do not let Geelong or Carlton win it. 2022 has been rough as it is.6 points

Thanks for the confirmation. Was quite an achievement by me to observe that given how stoned I am right now.5 points

Every time this thread 'kicks off' I get excited. When Jacko does sign a new contract I hope we start a new thread. I am tired of looking in here.5 points

Hey Gill, turn off the Fu.. music at the End of Each Quarter so i can talk to my mates about the game. Then i may consider going to another live game THE AFL HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT GAME DAY EXPERIENCE. WE GO TO WATCH FOOTY Bring back the 2’s5 points

I'm warming to the idea of playing Trac as a permanent forward against the Lions and replacing him in the guts with Gus. We have become very predictable and teams are feeding off that Gus is in form and Trac has been struggling to impact on the ball We desperately need some strong bodies in the F50 and that won't be coming from BB or Weid assuming he is gifted another opportunity Gus whilst playing great footy at HBF can be covered if we have May, Petty, Lever, Salem. Pig and any of (Bowey, Rivers, Hunt)5 points

50,000 for 2 "BIG 4" teams is a failure in my books. I know there is the excuse of cold weather and school night etc but Carlton are flying for the first time in nearly 3 decades and Richmond have 1,000,000 members so there is no excuse for 60 to 70. How many more would these 2 have got more to a Friday night or Saturday/Sunday day match? Caro and Co will no doubt pile on to the Dees for not drawing a top of the table clash crowd and conveniently forgot last night.4 points

Kade Chandler 3 weeks for a tackle gone wrong and then this, absolute amateur hour. If he's so concerned with his mental health why the hell hasn't he ditched his social media carp?4 points

Agree We are still going to field a good team on paper Any chance we organise to play the game on Paper 📃 ?4 points

From bf: What would be your take on stopping the midfeld? I feel that Petracca is down on last year and is probably playing through an injury but Oliver is still racking them up. Do we send Berry to him or feel that the team defense will be able to cover. Personally I feel we shut him down and send Berry to him. Petracca is the much more dangerous player and teams are winning by sitting on him. Oliver does not have the hurt factor that Petracca has. News of Max injury released. Don’t like seeing injuries but will help the cause especially for our midfield. Personally would prefer to play a fully fit Demon’s side to see where we actually stand. I'd rather win and not know where we stand than lose and know because at this point of the year there's not much more we can do to improve our side. Who knows . Gawn mightn't come back as the Gawn we've seen so fa this year. I'm not going to pretend it doesn't really help us and as much as I don't want to see anyone get injured I'm not unhappy about it. Just beat them and get the win. Season's too close to call so we better win regardless of whose playing. Winning at MCG would be a nice change / confidence booster too. Looks like the last win at MCG for us was in 2014 As it stands today, Melbourne are still the greatest threat to our Premiership aspirations so any advantage for us should be welcomed. I don't agree that we are favourites to win the flag or even the minor premiership this year. I think as it stands Fremantle are in the box seat for that one. I hate to be negative, but I am still waiting for that massive away win that as a club we havent had in a long time. Sydney away was good but not like what Dockers have been doing on the road against the big teams like Dees and Cats away. With Gawn out, going in with two rucks and really working them over makes sense. I disagree. If Big O can take Ryder & Marshall he can go it alone this week. Nothing amusing or cheeky to put in the 'My favourites' list.3 points

Big round next week not just for our top of the table clash as all top 8 teams play a top 8 team: Lions vs Dees Dockers vs Blues Cats vs Tigers Saints vs Swans Only two games (and some %) separating first and ninth (Collingwood) on the ladder. All teams in good form. Huge implications for the final 8 order! And potentially who drops out of the 8 with the Pies knocking on the door.3 points

Fair assessment - I struggle to see us kicking a big enough score to win based on exposed form in the last 3 weeks - their forward line is pretty capable and hard to shut down - ours is almost completely dysfunctional atm - personally I'd like to see us mix things up a bit and try Trac forward and Gus on the ball - if we go into the game with the predictable BB at FF and Weid at CHF its hard to see us creating a winning score IMO3 points

I work in springfield and drive past their facilities daily, really coming along nicely something we would be extremely jealous of. Regarding their comments all seem pretty measured and bang on, don't mind brisbane... both teams in poor form but hoping we can get our season back on track.3 points

Getting a little congested up the top of ladder, not saying I want Essendon to win, I’d rather the Saints lose.3 points

Ours or rhe lions? We have lost our last three. But the lions have lost 2 of their last 4 and tbe the two wins were far from impressive. They were 5 goals down early against the giants and only the giants woeful defence saved them. And they were woeful in their win against the saints. The saints were had two players concussed by half time (or soon after) and by the last quarter were down to one player on the bench. It's been a long time since I have seen such a low standard game between two good teams.3 points

Not sure what having a paper ticket will solve. The frustrations of the Ticketek booking process won't go away be it a digital, email or a printable ticket at the end of the booking: the instructions for inserting barcodes is poor, their algorithms for allocating tickets make it difficult to select tickets in a preferred area, it is very difficult to upgrade a GA membership ticket to a reserved seat etc etc And for club members it would help if the AFL fixed the 'Forward' barcode option on the clubs' mobile apps as not everyone finds it easy to take screen shots then text it someone nor how to use the Apple 'wallet' or its android equivalent. And it will help if people know they can buy walk up tickets rather than have to pre book via Ticketek. I have my doubts that digital ticketing is a major issue relative: to venue chosen in winter for Thurs night games, car parking, inadequate public transport, cost etc etc. The AFL have a lot of work to do to get crowds back.3 points

I may be alone in thinking this but I feel like Jacko might be a bit of an inbetween guy for his whole career. Not tall enough to be a permanent No.1 ruck and not damaging enough to be a permanent key forward. He had a decent game on the weekend but has been down on late 2021 form so far in 2022 If it netted us a King brother, McStay etc, I'd be wishing him well in pursuing a move back West.3 points

I’ve noticed MFC fans booing oppo players when lining up for goal recently. I personally hate it. Leave it to likes of Collingwood and west coast. Unless it is a bad free kick paid what are you actually booing? it’s ridiculous, childish and petty. a bloke marked the ball and is kicking for goal. Boo our defence if you like but the oppo did their job3 points

LOL. I was out and only just logged-on so missed the whole show. Will confess, I wouldn't have got it even with the obscure clue! Clearly real world crime/crims aren't my thing. Well done to the medal winners. I look forward to ds's Sunday doozie...2 points

What about giving Oskar Baker a run on the wing? It is now or never for his position on the list and he has some real upside as a winger. I also want to see Bedford and May in. Maybe Weideman should get a run too. Van Rooyen has to get some consideration for a debut soon!2 points

While we wait (with bated breath) for DS’s brain teaser, I wanna share this story about Monday’s match… So, I’m sitting with Shazza (Mrs. Nibbler) on my right and Pauline (Mrs. Fritta) and Desiree (cousin Fritta) on my left. It’s three quarter time and I’m chatting to Shazza about ‘Nibba’ as she calls him, and there’s music playing and ppl are dancing in the hope of getting themselves on TV. All of the sudden Pauline jumps to her feet and says, “Watch this, I’m gonna be on TV!” ands starts dancing while waving her fave banner (that says ‘Fritsch Magic’) above her head. And by dancing I mean DANCING. She was giving it everything! Desiree and I were laughing so hard since one minute she’s so quiet, like a heartbeat away from a coma, then in the blink of an eye she’s next level dancing like her life depended on it. I knew that unlike Nibbler - who loves that his mum sits with us - Fritta hates that his mum sits with us coz he says she embarrasses him. So I said to Desiree, “how do you think Bayley would react if he saw Pauline right now?” Desiree says, “Oh, he’d be [censored] HORRIFIED!” That made us laugh even harder. Pauline wanted to know what was so funny. We told her our conversation and I asked her, “Any chance that’ll make you rein it in some?” She’s like, “[censored] no!” and proceeds to dance even wilder than before. That the cameraman didn’t capture it is indeed a crying shame. But I’m sure Fritta doesn’t mind at all. 😁 Oh, and some of the gals in the cheer squad, instead of calling LJ6 Dogga, they call him Donger. Reason being, when Shazza first heard Dogga she thought it was Donger. Nobody corrected her since it was too funny to hear her calling out, “Go Donger!” She soon worked it out. She’s such a fun person to hang with. Same with Pauline. Awesome fun ppl (even when the Dees are losing). #SquadLOLLLSSS2 points
