The beauty of middle age and not going out on a Saturday night. Shall I start with the Dustin Fletcher Hangar or Big Footy Port Adelaide? Tough11 points

Brisbane, in Bears colours and playing on their old ground turned in a Bears performance for the ages. Well done!11 points

From my perspective a perfect death ride outcome. Cats lose and the Suns upset the Lions to maintain the one game gap with Freo.10 points

And when Grundy is in the team next week against Goldstein, and here next year, who holds Barrett accountable? The way he frames his speculation in such self assuredness that he is basically saying he knows for sure... 21st century media is a joke and their lack of accountability is a disgrace.10 points

Are they tiring? There last 3 rounds are tough games. Hopefully they cop a few injuries and get bundled out in straight sets…..the only thing better than that is us winning the flag. In fact the trifecta is the Pies going out, us winning and then getting Harley Reid. Can you imagine the celebrations? I mean seriously, that’s a life changing chain of events. Anything after that is of little consequence. go Dee’s, unleash Hell10 points

the Pies are winning based on system. They have some average players out there. How good was it to see Cox crack the naannies on the bench? Moore 8 clangers!8 points

See, this is the kind of negligence that will lead to payouts. It's not about suspending someone who accidentally bumps someone high when competing for the footy (Hunter on Rozee for example) it's about following the correct protocols that have been put in place. It shouldn't even be in the clubs hands, the AFL should have an independent medic on hand at each game to do the assessment.7 points

Stunned that Aliir has been allowed to return to the field. It wasn't the 20 minutes and defies duty of care.7 points

We certainly have an incredible hand in the draft this year. We can either: trade our early picks for established marquee player/s pick swap up the draft to secure Harley Reid use the draft to pick up a suite of young talent ensuring a strong list for a decade trade some of our early picks for developing players and leave some for the draft. On top of this is the Grundy question which comes into the equasion. The question is whether our focus is on trying to increase our odds of premierships in the next couple of years or develop a list that will continue to be rejuvenated beyond the current list maintaining success post Gawn. The aim; regular top four finishes for a decade or more with an occasional flag. Think Geelong. Our list is middle aged, Gawn at 31 will start to tire in the next year or two and Track and Oliver are at the peak of their powers. Viney is having a career best season at 28yo (My god he has been unbelievable). Regardless we need to pick-up another young gun midfielder in the next year or two if we are going to try do a Geelong. Then again we could go for immediate Premierships. If so the temptation of trading for McKay if he comes available is massive. He is the missing piece of our puzzle now that Brown is in quick decline. I am not sure where our salary cap is at but we could easily trade Grundy to free up cap space if required. My only concern with McKay is he gets the yips far too often. This is in his head. Could Chocko fix this? Regardless, if we picked up McKay we would go into next season as Flag favourites regardless on how this season pans out. I am not sure what is best for us, long term success builds culture and power, but Premierships is what we play for. Whatever the case we do have a mighty hand. This year's trade and draft period will be pivotal to our short- and medium-term premiership hopes.7 points

In reading Demonland for years I put DubDee's comment above as one of the funniest ever. Really appeals to my sense of humour.7 points

We had one game plan last year, and teams figured us out. We will see if the Pies game plan is good enough. They really don’t have anything else if plan A doesn’t work. While it might frustrate some fans, I love that Goodwin has tried many different line ups and strategies. Opposition coaches can’t know how we will approach the game.7 points

My take is it extremely difficult to back up after a game as intense and physical as last weeks pies port game - particularly if it is another high stakes, high pressure game. I mean, the evidence simply could not be clearer. It's not that the pies and port, first and second on the ladder, both lost. It's how they lost - both teams were gassed from the get go. I wouldn't be writing port off on the back of that game. That said i think it is a joke so many 'experts' had a top three - pies, port and lions - and the rest. And I'm glad I've banged in about it. Peanuts everywhere in the media. And on port - I didn't rate them in the top 3 prior to that game. So nothing has changed. My one regret on the punting front is not backing the crows over 39. Had the line and win bets covered, but should have had a nibble on the over 39 because that game was my best bet of the year. The crows were set for it. And as I expected port were gassed.6 points

Anyone who undermined our win against Adelaide should watch how they're playing tonight. They're a very dangerous team.6 points

Agree with @old55, people forget Max's influence behind this decision. Which is both annoying and strange. Max was never going to excel as a forward. Unless we can pick up a ready to go backup ruckman and a young developing one in the off season, Brodie won't be going anywhere. I think what we've done be giving Brodie some exposure to leading patters and forward craft at VFL is the right thing. And hopefully it pays off come finals.6 points

On AFL360 he said it was to give a little bit of protection to the arm and the scarring caused by a serious post-op infection. Probably helps him mentally as well given the serious nature of the break and the wound suffered. Impressive by him to come back as he has.6 points

Dunstan masses stats on smaller VFL ground that I suggest have more stoppages and less open transitional play. He is AFL standard around the stoppage offensively and defensively. Unfortunately away from the stoppage he lacks the transitional movement to defend and when he gets ball in open play lacks effectiveness by foot. Harmes has him well covered generally but most importantly can fill multiple roles. Dunstan is purely a first dibs inside mid with no further flex.5 points

That was great. I didn’t appreciate how hard it would have been to come back from the drubbings in his early career. At the elite level, that would shatter your confidence so to overcome that, end up captain, b&f and premiership player is amazing.5 points

Their last three games are almost as tough as our last three games last season - the cats at the g on the Friday night, the lions (also a Friday night) at marvel and the bombers at the g. On paper, the bombers is the easiest of those games, but it will be a massive crowd and the bombers might be playing for a spot in the eight. We saw last year, with our games against the pies, blues and lions, how high pressure, high stakes, finals like games leading into finals can flatten a team.5 points
