Gutsy performance from him to shoulder that load tonight. Pathetic effort from fans to jump on here and bag him out straight away.22 points

One of the most appalling displays of umpiring I have ever seen and I've been around for a while. The AFL have tried to make the umps some sort of footy celebrities for TV purposes, but their feel for the game and judgement is just so bad. In fact, it currently is a blight on the game. This win tonight is bigger for us than the score would suggest. We had to beat incredible odds, which were solely down to atrocious umpiring, on Adelaide's turf and we did it with grit and determination. That's the Demon spirit, which nobody can deny. Not even the umpires. Go you mighty Demons.15 points

No normally an ump basher, missed all of ours and gifted them. Missed a Ben Brown mark as well. Should be raised by the club.13 points

23 to 9 frees. That is as corrupt an umpiring exhibition as you will ever see. Adelaide is a hole of town. Their supporters are feral. They can farkl off13 points

Clarry just the lazy 13 tackles tonight (on top of his usual ridiculous stats). Things you love to see from players AFTER signing a contract.12 points

I'd like to suggest to anyone who's had a gut full of the inept, corrupt umpiring of interstate games to contact the AFL tonight and voice your displeasure. Absolute amateur hour, get some umpires who've got some balls to call the game correctly rather than the feckless cowards we have to put up with12 points

If anyone actually thinks that umpiring wasn't a complete rort, then you're worse than a Collingwood supporter and you genuinely need to get off this forum. Good win though.11 points

Your poor old Uncle Bitter is taking a well earned break from Manorial responsibilities and enjoying a balmy 28 degrees in downtown Bangkok. However, I shall be watching the mighty Dees thrash the Crows this afternoon. No ruck? No worries! Our mids will create plenty of opportunities and ,if our defence is as miserly as last game, the Crows will be lucky to get 50 points. I'm tipping May to play a cracker. I'm very confident. I am meeting that Demonland luminary ( and Bangkok tour guide) SWYL at a sports Bar of his recommendation to enjoy the game. SWYL assures me that the establishment has a very welcoming atmosphere and is located in the Toorak of Bangkok. Nana , I believe, is the name of the suburb.11 points

I think a lot of demons fans don’t understand how we are asking Ben Brown to play. At North he played as a leading forward in a team that played a lot of games at Marvel - where it’s less contests and easier for dry ball skills. For us he’s trying to compete in the air almost 100% of the time - as it suits our midfield game style. He’s in the team to kick 2 goals from the 4 opportunities he’s going to get a week. At North, when he was firing, he was getting 10 opportunities because of the way they played, and tried to isolate him. He’s an important part of the team - specifically around aerial contests in the forward 50 and keeping players like Andrews and Stewart honest.10 points

The only thing that concerns me is the inside info Burgess has on our player stengths/weakeness, game structures etc. Crows will be all out to get a fast start. We will need to be alert early for new tactics, after all they surprised us with a winning game plan last year, without Burgess. If we can get the fast start, kick straight and take the crowd noise out we will be well on our way. Had hoped this would be a % booster and we win by the 6-8 goals. Now thinking a win of 3-4 goals, even without a recognised ruckman. A game to bank the 4 points and move on.10 points

First game outside of Victoria and I have to say it was a ripper to watch. Mens Department are immense, #3 & 17 are as important as #1, 35 & 8 and we bumped into Harry P on the way home from dinner still in his gear and looking very happy. There is a different feel when travelling as our hotel was right next to the team's and we kept bumping into the players out and about. Walking distance to the ground was cream on the cake Great result in enemy territory but as soon as the game was over the locals went straight back to their hospitable selves. Great fun and go Dees (Definitely won't be waiting 59years for my next interstate game)9 points

Clarry is hard done by. The umps don't look after him, and not just this game. Players hang off him before the ball arrives and he gets pinned for not disposing of the sherrin properly. For a champion player, he gets hardly any protection most weeks from the umps and has to play through being tagged and targeted. Can't see him getting the Brownlow votes he deserves, if they just don't see what he does, how he goes about it and his performance through the duress the opposition apply. One of the toughest, fairest and most talented footballer for the Dees I've seen.9 points

I care, had a gut full of biased interstate umpiring for the last 30+ years. For a multi million dollar industry it's F'n amateur hour9 points

It may be also worth remembering the return game last year, when we beat Adelaide by 41 points MELBOURNE 104 def ADELAIDE 63 3. P.Seedsman (ADE) 2. B.Keays (ADE) 1. B.Fritsch (MEL) Beggars belief really.9 points

Can’t believe not a word from Foxtel commentators on what was probably the worst umpiring performances this season. Really happy for Mitch Brown to bag 2 goals, tried hard in the ruck, but way undersized.. Has been a great team man for Melbourne and deserved a bit of reward.9 points

I’m really enjoying the salty tears of Adelaide fans crying that Lever is soft for going down when hit in the guts. Yet Foggerty ran away like a little scared cat the moment Viney stepped in.9 points

Good effort going up against the big man. All we ask for is Sam competes and tonight he did that. It’s not an easy role. We have no one else to do it. He performed to an acceptable level. It’s all we can ask.9 points

No ruck no worries. No quality key forward taking marks no worries. 3 free kicks for in the last 3 quarters no worries. Crows gave great effort Walker challenges most backlines but we were just too hard and classy around the ball. Great see Trac back being Trac and Langdon back being Langdon. Take the 4 points and keep a space on the pack. We will need it with our run home.9 points

Worst umpiring I have just about ever seen. Our class won out in the end. Welcome back, Petracca.9 points

Like many others, I have my doubts about Sam's long-term future. He does seem to be stuck at a level somewhere between the VFL and AFL. But cut him some slack tonight. Asked to play a role for which he is not really suited he did his best. You can't ask for more.8 points

Petty was actually pretty good. Brayshaw’s kicking is consistently letting us down no matter how good his intercept game is.8 points

I‘ll be there in support WCW. It will be my first visit to the new Adelaide Oval, and I’ve driven 1200 kms, across three States, to get here. Looking forward to yelling my lungs out for our Mighty Dees, and clearing the immediate area of Crows fans by 3/4 time. 😇. Celebration planned in the Barossa tomorrow.8 points

Definitely the best game I've seen Petracca play since the opening rounds of the season. He's been slowly building over the last few weeks but his explosiveness looks to be back in full force and most of his disposals were either constructive or impactful. Likewise Langdon, who hasn't quite been at his best since his return to the side after he missed a week with injury. Our defensive performance was unreal today. Aside from Walker in the first half, none of the Adelaide forwards threatened the scoreboard. I think I heard the commentators mention that we broke our own record for intercepts in one game and came close to knocking off the all time record. Hibberd took Rachele to school while Petty was one of our big winners in the air. Bowey also returned to some of his best form, operating at 86% disposal efficiency. Really loving the season JJ is putting together. Has an incredible work ethic and always looks cool in a crisis. Love that he's starting to shrug tackles to get into a better position to dispose the ball. His body strength looks to have come a long way this season. Also, Oliver is simply unbelievable.7 points

Can’t for the life of me work out why the AFL can’t make the umpiring a full time gig. do that and most of these crap umpired days disappear7 points

I've always been reluctant to travel interstate to watch matches ... the thought of flying back after a drubbing, or even a loss, isn't particularly appealing. The only interstate match I went to was v Swans, about 5 years ago. In an upset, the Demons won at the SCG!! I was visiting my thirdborn (who lived/lives there) and shouted my secondborn a trip there. Very enjoyable long weekend !!!6 points
