Here is an image of all the matchup and position changes Leon made at 3/4 time.12 points

Bit of a silly statement there. We overrate Pruess on here too much. Talia is a dual All Australian full back and the other is a VFL ruckman/forward. Talia has way enough experience playing on the monster forwards.6 points

Mitch Hannan apparently on board to darwin and so is salem I reckon hannan is one of the important players we have been missing this year.4 points

Mark Stevens @Stevo7AFL Mitch Hannan, underrated “spark” player for Demons, also on board for trip to Top End, finally injury free. First AFL game of year looming. @7NewsMelbourne I like it....3 points

anything could happen. we usually play better the week after being pathetic. Adelaide are no great shakes but they will probably win Salem in is massive. he is moving up the ranks of our most important players would friggen love to win though. bit of excitement going into QB and the bye3 points

To the melbourne fans who have travelled to Darwin lucky you. Enjoy the warm weather.3 points

Correct. Short memories around here. Jones could have left just like many before him did to chase a flag (Rivers, Frawley etc etc) but he stuck around with this rubble of a club and he deserves to get to 300 even if it means nursing him for the last 10 or so games. To be honest he’s been playing as well as most of our other mids this year anyway and had no pre season. Give him a break!3 points

Agreed. Hopefully @RedLegs23 can show form.3 points

Are you just copy and pasting this in all threads, even ones totally unrelated to your “comment”.2 points

Definitely a strange selection. JKH is no star obviously, but he has hardened body and is playing for his career. Should definitely be in for Spargo.2 points
-
I'm not one usually to get too discombobulated about selections but i'm bamboozled by Spargo getting a gig ahead of JKH. Flummoxed even. Was an emergency after struggling at VFL level, gets a late call up and puts in a stinker.2 points

I think he's in our best 22 and great when firing, but he isn't a consistent performer yet and i recall him being dropped at least two times last year. The oft remarked piece of cliche/wisdom is a players stocks grow more rapidly when they're out injured.2 points

How often do we see/hear when a kicker kicks to a space. And in a cohesive setup ,people know how to move into that space at the right time. We were doing that last year because we were "connected" . Too often currently either leads/spaces are ignored or a player kicks the ball and the supposed recipient is standing. Two things: NEVER kick to a bloke standing still Never stand still2 points

Smith has been our best contested mark in his games this year. He needs to do more, but I’m not concerned by his selection. Im baffled at Spargo getting another game. He has been awful this year. Needs to go back and try and get his hands on the footy a bit.2 points

I’m honestly stunned as to what the FD see in smith over the Weid. He’s played 2 vfl games and dominated in both of them.2 points

How many games has Petty played? Three? Yet you dills give up on him. What did Tom McD look like after 3? its the same really with Kielty. Has hardly played. You give guys like this a decent go before you write them off. Don't You?2 points

It won't be a guarantee other than " deserve to play and we will play you" , with a bit of lenience on the application of the word deserve.2 points

No way was Morton an 'elite' kick. Maric couldn't get the ball and neither could Strauss. Toumpas was also touted as an 'elite' kick. He wasn't. Both he and Morton had very flawed techniques which crumbled under pressure (I have railed on this forum about the flaws in their kicking). I just think that we recruited competitive beasts, many of whom are not good users. The ideal is, of course, to have a combination of combative, smart and skilful. ATM we are out of whack.2 points

We are 8-3 in our past 11 interstate trips. Think positive, it might not be that crazy.2 points

Not saying he doesn't deserve to reach 300. Not saying he shouldn't get another contract. Just saying it shouldn't come with a guarantee of at least 14 games. We haven't won a premiership in 55 years. imv the club owes supporters who have loyally stuck fat for many decades, to do everything in its power to get the next one. I would expect the club to put its and supporter interests ahead of any individual. Lets hope we do both: Jones to 300 and a tilt at the premiership in 2020!!2 points

Well we currently hold pick 3 in the draft and by the looks of it we cannot trade it this year which is about bloody time in my opinion. With the likes of Lewis and Jones careers close to finishing up i feel we are in need of some fresh exciting talent to come through and take this club forward. With the under 18s championships coming up, AFL.com have done a list of players to look out for. https://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-05-30/u18-championships-20-young-guns-to-watch2 points

Steven May looked really good on the track today When we get our best back 6 on the park I'll be really excited. My view is that it includes: FB: Jetta May Lever HB: Salem Frost Hibberd Handy to have OMac/Hore covering matchup options and potentially allowing Salem to float forward2 points

You should apply for Misso job. Some on here would rate you ahead of him on this assessment alone2 points

Has always amused me how, in AFL world you can't give the perfectly reasonable explanation of a massive injury list for poor form. You're just making excuses2 points

Anna and I have a mutual friend. The complications from her eye surgery is extremely rare. It occurs in 0.9% of cases and to varying degrees. Sadly in Anna’s case it was the most extreme degree. I had exactly the same surgical procedure in January and I vaguely remember the surgeon discussing this sort of complication but as it was an emergency situation and the alternative was to lose my vision, I put this complication in the back of my mind and went ahead and had the surgery with no complications- thank God. Rest assured the MFC community will rally around Brad and their young family. I feel so sad for everyone involved. ??2 points

joel smith being delisted or traded?? you guys have rocks in your head! For a team that lacks any sort of athleticism across the park he is one that has it in spades and also showed to be a pretty accurate shot for goal, something none of our team can do. he is not only starting 22, but starting 18 and was proving that all pre-season. crazy!2 points

The difference between us and the Tigers is that they have more pace and skill. They apply pressure through great defensive positioning and pace. We can't quite match them in this regard. Their offensive running is better and smarter too and they have some great forwards in Reiwoldt, Martin, Rioli, Lynch, Castagna etc. While they are not necessarily brilliant, their system is. Ours requires a higher level of physical contest and has taken its toll. I hope that Goodwin and the coaching panel have a development plan. The current one is not sustainable.2 points

If they’re creating that many issues and having their details taken, kick them out. It’s not that hard.2 points

This bloke was gettable last trade period and I was pushing him hard on DL, with not a lot of support from other posters. Given our current position with key forwards and his form, he would have been invaluable. GWS was looking to make salary cap room and he would not have cost a lot in salary or trade. I said at the time he was big, mobile and could play both ends of the ground. He would have been a good get for us and might have helped us win another game or two to this point of the season, which would have kept our finals chances alive. Big pity.1 point

For our best defence... I'd like you to slot 'Hore' Or 'Lever' onto a flank.. and push Salem up to Wing. He can run defensive cover from the Wing position, covering, sweeping. & delivering.1 point
-
He cost us sweet [censored] all. The guy he pushed out? off the list? back in 2017? I wont even bother looking to see who it was. It was a spud. The guy who we would have drafted instead of him? With Pick 90? Good one. We had Nathan Jones as the only leadership in the whole team and had a guy who had played in 4 flags who wanted to come to the club. Watts? you bring up Watts? you think he could have played the plus 1 role? He played every [censored] position on the ground and he was a [censored] liability.1 point

I think you have the Wagners mixed up. Josh was the one that got more of the ball, Corey was one of the players that offered the no support from further up the field you speak of. All I’m saying from my observations, Corey struggled to transition from the forward line to defence. I did see him try and run with Whitfield at times and couldn’t keep up, not many would though. Just the way I saw it dimmy, nothing personal against Corey.1 point

Lever just said on AFL tonight that he’s not playing this week, didn’t come up after training and should be back against Collingwood.1 point
-
Risk. Lever is not a silver bullet. He needs another Casey game at least if he plays at all. IMO May and Preuss in - we must have Gawn supported in the ruck and backline. Build the team up from there. Jones to the wing with strong 'no bombing' instructions.1 point

I am amused that you used some rhyming slang for the last two words of your post to avoid using a known swear word only to have the auto-censor decide that the cleaned-up version doesn't meet its definition of an appropriate community standard anyway.1 point

We need a Jeremy Cameron type forward before getting in another player who’s a good second or third tall forward.1 point
