How good were Matt Grandland and Brett Phillips (both from SEN) at commentating today. No ego, no nonsense, just good old-fashioned commentating.22 points

So I'm currently in the middle of the Baltic sea. It took me 45 minutes and $200 to find a viable internet connection, and all I can say is WTF?! 24 goals? Who are we? What has happened to Melbourne? Are GC just crap? Gawn from what I can tell reading the play on the AFL app, seemed to be involved in everything!15 points

How's this for team stats rankings. Disposals-2nd. Inside 50's-2nd. Goal accuracy-1st. Contested possessions-1st, Clearances-1st. Handballs-2nd.14 points

Best win in, probably, a decade. Amazing stuff. Yes, we can get better defensively and clean up our disposal a touch, but please - enjoy it everyone. Sit back, relax and enjoy something that hasn't come around in 10 years.14 points

Tell you who isn't tradeable, Clayton Oliver, cleanest player in the team and has played what 5 games? Unbelievable this kid.11 points

Just for a point of reference. The last time we kicked over 150 was round 6 2004. How amazing is that? It's been mentioned, but how good is it that we kick our biggest score in over a decade with only one goal from our two key forwards? Massive spread. Hunt is showing what he can do. Now the next step is to hit targets better. Right now he's Sprint, Sprint, Sprint, Bomb and we need him to be more Sprint, Sprint, Steady, Hit target. What I really love in his game though is that he uses his pace to get to contests and defend. He's what we wanted Blease to be. So so happy with the young brigade. I include Viney in that number as he's only in his fourth season. The commentators were raving about the big bodied, powerful young mids we've put together and how this is the sort of midfield that wins you finals. When it clicks this team looks mighty. Wagner and Hunt just look like a champion HB pairing for the next decade or so. Wagner had a shocking clanger for a goal against early on, but his disposal and hardness are great. The pair just seem to fit and provide the rebound and attack we need. GAWN. He was so stuffed he couldn't walk out of the goalsquare for an opposition kick-in by the end, but he's a monster. Amazing game again. Could have had five goals too! There are just too many positives from this game to mention them all. It was just awesome to watch. Oh, this will be the third time this season we've won but not moved up on the ladder, while we have twice moved up after a loss. Sorry to say, but Scully would be the outside runner we need and probably rack up 40 touches a game with our inside ball-winners feeding him.10 points

I know. When the siren sounded, I smashed the TV, kicked the cat and assaulted my next door neighbour out of habit. What do winners actually do? (beside being grinners)9 points

If the opposing ruckman doesn't play a blinder, teams are on the back foot all game vs Gawn. What a luxury. Thought Viney's first half disposal was woeful. He snuffed that out with 2 kicks straight after half time. The skipper lead like he should, could smell a kill and really stepped up. Oliver is a [censored] amazing footballer. Best hands I've seen at the Dees ever. That handball into the corridor before Bernie [censored] it up was something else. Nev Jetta is one courageous and extremely consistent footballer. Apart from Nev the defence always worries me. Small forwards kicking goals on opposite feet and Petracca getting a feel for it, party time. I'd be happy if I never heard the name Ablett again, [censored] they never shut up about him. Gawn sold him candy once, and outran him later, no mention of that though.8 points

I honestly can't remember the last time I watched a Dees game in which the four points were in the bag and the fourth quarter was simply 'fun' to watch. Good times8 points

Go the f*cking Dees! Rapt with that second half. Got a man crush on Oliver. He is such a beast, so solid and amazing around the stoppages. He's just like Michael Voss!8 points

I must seriously take off my hat to this young man. I didn't think he'd come back.I thought the injury would win. I didn't want it to but after many false starts from many players you could just envisage how this might unfold. I was resigned to it. Trengove wasn't ... Kudos I didn't however acknowledge the tenacity and ability of this lad to persevere. The black dog can get the best of many yet hes been able to continually lift above above it. Have no doubt some days were bad but his enthusiasm is infectious. Yes Id love to see him back on the G and not even so much because hes a genuinely talented player but because Id like to witness him bask in that moment that embraces " I DID IT" What an amazing accomplishment that will be. I look forward to this game8 points

Gee what a great interview, made my day. If Trengove can make it back to AFL level, that will be a huge boost to the club.8 points

One goal between Hogan and Watts, our two leading goalkickers yet we still managed to kick 24 goals. Not too shabby.7 points

I don't mind that, as it shows we are learning that young players need to be developed properly, not damaged. The fact that it comes on the back of a good game, shows we are prepared to follow the process and not chop and change on whim. In the long run, this will prove to be a benefit to the players and the club.7 points

We are rooted if (like last week) every key back man stands 30m away from Lynch pointing fingers at each other.7 points

Prefer to say We didn't take our chances in the first half and allowed GC scoring opportunities through poor defense. IN the second half we did what good sides do and lifted to crush the opposition.6 points

Wow! At halftime I called a loss, and have never been happier to be so completely and woefully wrong. We all know about Petracca, but none of us saw Jayden Hunt coming. Yep, he'll ride a rollercoaster, but he's going to be a very very good footballer. Best game of the year for the chunk too. Our clearance work is simply blistering, even if their midfield was thinned. So much to like, can't imagine how impressive we'll be when we tighten up on the easy transitions and gift goals.6 points

Are you just keeping us up to date with mistakes? Jesus mate, enjoy the game, we're almost 9 goals up.6 points

Olivers hands are amazing, rarely fumbles picking it up and hits his targets by hands, but the most impressive thing about him is the vision he has and the way he constantly finds the right option and attacking option. This area of his game is already elite. The style of game he has, he'll be hard to tag out of the match as well.6 points

Sorry if this has been posted already, but check out the little piece from MelbourneTV with Robbo and Trenners. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2016-05-06/robbo-and-trenners Just so hard not to love Trenners. What a great young bloke he appears to be and an inspiring person. Really looking forward to his AFL return.6 points

Hunt came of age tonight. Love his dash. Best game I've seen Jetta play. Imagine kicking 24 goals with Watts and Hogan getting only one between them. Loved Watts sacrificial game making space for others. Bugg and Kennedy are great additions5 points

Hate to be the devil's advocate here but we have major defensive issues. Teams score far too often when going forward against us. Big test against the Dogs next week. One of the best attacking teams vs one of the best defensive teams. They have so many talls.5 points

Oh and Petracca's goals. Amazing. The way they got around him after the first one was hugely encouraging. And that second one was just taking the [censored]. Loved the strut afterwards.5 points

And after all his whinging about that meanie Paul Roos for playing him in defence last year, when all he wanted to do was lazily hang in the forward line waiting for the midfield to do all the work for him. After all, didn't Bucks promise Howe that his defending days were over at the Pies? Dear oh dear, we have sold them a lemon!5 points
