Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It’s been mentioned before but GWS are bloody good to watch. They’re so clean and hard at it.

And they’re going to pick up more fans this year I reckon.

Pick up another and that'll almost double it. Agree though. Good to watch.

We'll never know, but I don't think Bedford would have developed further in our system. This is a team and a style that suits him and sometimes you need the upheaval - city, colleagues, environment - to take yourself to the next level.

He chose to leave and there wasn't a lot we could do to make him stay. Wish him nothing but success

Bedford is just okay, he may catch the eye more but he's in the same ball park as Chandler, Spargo for mine

Agree. He’s lifted at GWS but he didn’t do much when he got chances with us, and certainly wasn’t applying the kind of pressure he does now.

And even though some like to hate on Toby Greene, the guy is a f...ng legend of a player.  He is the complete player and I get goose bumps watching him.

[and my daughter reckons the GWS is the best song other than 'Grand Old Flag']

That's the things with the Filth.

They fight to get all the hard game out the way early with their draw and then they don't leave melbourne after the half way mark of the year.

So don't get to carried away with this.

You prompted me to check!  Their last four games are tough - Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne - but yes, seven of their last eight will be at the MCG with just the one interstate trip (Sydney).

GWS the pick of the bunch this round. Strong from back to front. Polished skills. If they can stay fit, in particular hogan, then they’re as good a chance as anyone this year.

What happened to Jordan degoey? I didn't see him or hear his name in the 2nd half

Literally stopped mid-stoppage with the play still evolving around him, to complain to the umps. Not a great look

Greene is a freak player and hardly ever has a bad game. And when GWS weren’t doing great, he never dropped off.

I went to our game Thursday and again tonight

I have to say that I do have a soft spot for GWS mainly because both Hogan and Bedford were favs - both played very very well tonight

It was a joy sitting in amongst some of the most feral animals and clueless Collingwood fans imaginable - I walked away thinking we desperately need more jails. It was particularly sweet to hear them turn on Mason and but best of all was the giants fans booing Maynard. Made up for some of the disappointment of Thursday night.

Anyway from a footy perspective GWS are a very very good footy side and have strength all over the field - hard to pick a weakness - yes it’s round zero but they will be at the pointy end again this year

bit of revisionist history about how much gw$ have changed - they were regular finalists for all but cameron's last season, from 2016 to 2022, missing only in that last year

their side has been consistently close to contention for a long time

their top tier players are still toby greene, kelly, whitfield, coniglio, himmelberg, ward plus some players they've brought on during that cameron era, like daniels, taylor, tom green, etc.

very, very good list

Giants look scary good. Hard at the contest, speed, skill. Very disciplined across the ground with everyone playing their role. Have the ability to make the ground small when defending but big when they are in possession which is great coaching. The thing that stood out for me was their talls would fly for a mark or bring it to ground and every single time there was a small at their feet ready. Can play tempo footy at the right time.Talent and structure the team to beat this year for me.

Pies were shell shocked, having to jump on a plane to play a game, 1st interstate game since round 19, you c as b only imagine if GWS or the lions had the same draw, the pies supporters would be all over it! Until the afl fix the rigged draw!

I doubt that the filth hierarchy/coaching staff + their filty supporters will be too upset.  They are the reigning premiers after all.

I don't think the Dees will have a great year*, but I wouldn't be too upset to see GWS win.

*hope I'm wrong

There a few things in life more pleasurable than watching Collingwood lose. AFL comment sections this morning have some wonderful reading material from their fans.

Just fills my heart with pure joy.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
