Absolutely zero chance Bowey is getting dropped..

Actually watch yesterday's game and you'll see that Bowey defended really well and won some critical intercept possessions.

I suspect it's not a question of whether Bowey gets dropped but rather has he received a shoulder/arm/AC joint injury that might keep him out.

His best game for many weeks.

Super hard at it too.

He came back on and played out the game.

It was a suspected stinger which will be fine in 11 days time.

I suspect Hibberd would have played today if not concussed, and that Turner would have been pre-warned that he’d only have one week.

And assuming Melksham is indeed injured, it would seem TMac will get the call up.

So Hibberd for Turner and TMac for Melksham

But I do worry about TMac’s fitness. A long shot, but what do others think of Tomlinson playing forward instead of TMac?  He’s much fitter than TMac right now and would therefore have the tank to get up the ground to support our exits from D50 and kicks along the wing, like TMac did when he was fit.  Of course he hasn’t trained there all year - too much experimentation at this late stage in the season?

He will probably have another Casey game if it is needed but you saw how seamlessly Oliver & Friita fitted in so gave to trust the High Performance team on this

Agree Katrina,

Indubitably his best performance yet in Demon colours. Though of course, in the VFL competition against a lower rated 'wildcard' opponent. Brody certainly had a more dynamic, energetic edge to his performance. With greater endurance, he  had the mobile ruckman - midfielder hybrid happening with a cameo pinch hit forward role thrown in.

i don't think there's any doubt that brodie is one of the best 'ruck-rovers' in the competition

that's not what we need from him tho

The question on many DL watchers lips WWSW, Is with Jake Melksham a likely out who will come into the QF team? Options appear limited with successive season ending injuries to forwards in recent weeks. Like for like is not going to happen, so other options will need to be explored. Tom MacDonald also has had an impact since return from injury, kudos to the recovery and re-conditioning staff. But is he capable of performing like Harrison Petty and Bayley Fritsch and positively impacting in a high stakes final? Surprisingly, Brody Grundy has done his chances no harm of a senior recall, based on his most recent Casey outing.

They might be crowing too early imv.

Have they learnt nothing the last 60 years?

They are 4-18-2 in GFs since 1937!

Again only VFL but his leading is what impressed me from yesterdays game. TMac demanded the ball.

Funny how they've lost their best player and we have gained arguably our best back in Oliver alongside our best forward. Also Moore may come in underdone. However losing Melk, is SAD I think he is a big moment player.

When we last played them they were without De Goey, Sidebottom, Elliott and McStay. We were without Oliver and they have lost Daicos but they will be a different proposition to last time we met.

Really hope we keep quiet in the media next two weeks. I see the Age is running with the tired 'all duck and no dinner' line again. No need for us to provide more distraction and motivation for oppo sides. Let our game speak for itself Thursday week

There will be a story every day. Luckily Carlton are still in it but Collingwood drive viewing numbers.

AFLW starts this weekend but you'd hardly know it

Or two in 64 years from 1959.

So they're not due till 2032, or 32 years after their last one

Bookmakers have Pies as $1.84. All the talk will be about them before the game. I’m fine with us being the underdog. Going to be a very tight close game but the way we have been running out final quarters over the past month has me confident we win a close one. Think this is huge. Winner wins the flag in my opinion.
Can’t wait.

Pies are going to be much harder to beat than some here think.

Surely no one thinks they will be easy to beat.

I certainly don't.

But i think we will beat them.

By the by, the Pies are currently 1.84 favorites and we are 2.00, with the line at 1.5

That is as good as even money, but i suspect we will in fact start close favorites.

A genuine 50 50 game.

That we will win.

i did watch the game and Bowey played well for sure. but he has been inconsistent over the past month or so. i would prefer the experience and big body of Hibberd down back. also gives us a taller defender if someone goes down. Bowey would be stiff for sure but McVee has been better imo

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
