Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I have had us as premiership favourites all season.

The market is now catching up (my tip - we will be favourites with the bookies on Sunday morning).

We were last night but Pies $3.50 us $4 now on TAB.

Josh Daicos is the best winger in the AFL. His decision making is elite.

Amazing to think he was thinking of giving it away a few years ago.

Cats are sold and slow and look like they are in for a big fall.

The cats situation is a cautionary tale for all list managers, you have to keep developing and turning your list over. Topping up and holding firm with your vets only works for a little while before it all goes belly up.

Re Josh Daicos - he is part of a whole new type of young player who have stunning kicking and decision making skills. I rate his kicking ability up there with Dusty, Tex and Lukosius, and his decision making is better. I hate the Pies but I like watching this bloke play. Some of his kicking last night was ridiculous in its brilliance.

With one exception. He plays wide and sometimes chooses not to go in when it is his turn, head over ball, and smash in for the contest. Now this might be coaches instructions because McRae does keep Pendlebury, Sidebottom and the 2 Daicos boys about 10 metres off most contests so they can us their kicking ability without pressure.

He doesn't need to be tagged, but if in this year's finals he is played one-on-one (both the Dees and Port did this to the Pies this year) his impact is lessend because he doesn't get time for his elite kicking.

Amusing to see alot of the 'expert' posters on DL got it wrong about Collingwood.

There was no way they were going 0-3. They'll likely go 3-0 or rest sore players and drop one.

How can we finish 4th so we get a damaged pies in QF?

I dont care at all about 2nd place.

I’m confused by this post. Very few people here thought they’d go 0-3. In fact I can’t think of one.
They can go 3-0 from here and still have the same vulnerabilities they’ve had all year.
Lions game next week is enormous.

Cats still a decent chance to make finals. depends how many wins the teams around them get obviously. If the Cats win the last two they are a good chance unfortunately

probably play the blues or dogs round 1 at the G

No guarantee they'll beat the Bulldogs with Bont and Liber in top form. Some sides play the cattery quite well its just us that are awful at it. Thats why Geelong request we go there every year.

GWS will probably be removed from the list. They play the cattery better than anyone.

Geelong will struggle to make the eight with their destiny in the hands of other teams above them.

Hocking and Scott cant save them anymore. Its done.

I would love to see the suns continue with their excellent SCG form against the swans. Don't need to face them on that constipated oval if they can clinch a spot in the 8 in the last round.

Am I just miss reading this but BT on Foxtel, with 4 mins to go in the second qtr last night after a woods goal said " they are waking up just like mushrooms". A little insensitive considering the situation down in Gippsland. How can any reference to a mushroom relate to football.  Of course it had to be BT.

10 players carried injusries into the Lions final for us.

Fagan's comment simply confirms how damaged we were _Petracca playing with a hairline  for example - and that Lions simply found out by a far superior team in Prelim .

I think thats why i'm not too disappointed about last year. We looked cooked against Brisbane and the standard wasn't there for that the game. It was pretty obvious that the winner was going to get smashed against Geelong which is what happened.

Hoping we learnt from our mistakes from last year. So far it's looking good.

@binman what does it mean when Kingy is all in on the Dees?

Time to back the pies for the flag?

PSA

The MFC bandwagon is now officially full. The club will not be accepting any more on board.

The club will run a waitlist, but please note Pies fan boys and those jumping off the Pies bandwagon will not be added to the list.

A picture of David King has been provided to security.

YOU were the poster who said they had to 0-3 to miss top spot when it is in fact 1-2.  I didn't see anyone say they will go 0-3.

Correct and with Nick it's not his first possession, it's the one after if he is allowed to continue running after that.

I don't know what game people were watching last night but I was there and with or without Daicos the bazball game the Pies play is dangerous. Add Sidebottom and its very dangerous...they run ,they spread, they go boundary or not if required ,they HIT  TARGETS and the frequency with which they have one or two loose in the forward line  is extraordinary and no coincidence

Both the Cats and the Pies have marking skill and the Pies have players  at the drop of the ball at all times without the need of miracle goals  that Kossi sometimes provides.

But the Cats played traditional like the Ashes Aussies without Lyon ,while Cameron nearly won it. Add Hawkins and it might have been game over!

The Pies  backline  is vulnerable  to a marking forward and Salem and Rivers are  more important than  May and Lever if the Dee's need time in the forward half to win without Petty.

Better win this arvo...

Oh and Pies supporters are truly feral and the leg up they get from both the MCG and AFL is a disgrace

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
