Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just voted and it confirmed what I knew: that the vast majority of us wont. Unlike other clubs                  ( particulaparticularly crows, power, eagles and lions), we are above such neanderthal tactics.

Disclaimer.  Umpires not included.

My wife reckons I am part Neanderthal so it is all strangely beginning to make sense.

My justification is that we are going to the football and not to the opera.  There is a difference. (I like your disclaimer) GO DEES!

Expecting Jeremy Howe type boos.

Nothing over the top but still enough to hear through the TV.

Agree that the Baker booing was embarrassing. The guy was (probably justifiably) way down the pecking order and we delisted him accordingly. Then the Dogs kept his AFL dream alive.

Listening Steven May on LJ yesterday, he said that Dogga rocked up to a off-season planning meeting after he had been traded was told blunty that he wasnt supposed be attending that meeting.

The guy is genuinely from another planet. i dont think booing will phase him one bit.

Just a kid.  Needs a break.  His Manager seems to have the foot of the peddle life-lessons wise I suspect

He's a premiership Demon for life

Yea good point. Not like that gang has being overflowing with members the last half century either. He gets a pass.

Besides as KDF pointed out, it's more other clubs way of doing things.

Complete waste of time and breath plus it's childish, it's a business now, and it is easy to see why players leave when they can make money for their future life away from football, lets be honest how many people on this forum would knock back the money he is making now for the sake of loyalty for the club.

I'm halfway listening to Gus and Gawny's interview with Jeff Farmer, who is idolised by almost all Demon supporters yet he made the same move to Freo in 2002 for similar sorts of reasons as Dogga.  It's unfathomable that Dee supporters would boo Jeff and, for related reasons, I think that it would be a shame if Dee supporters boo Dogga.

I'm no angel (maybe that's why I'm a Demon 😀) and I'll confess to premeditated booing of Shane Woewodin when he played for Collingwood from 2003 (even though he was nudged out of Melbourne, who actually paid part of his package at Collingwood).  It didn't make me feel any better at the time; I'm actually rather ashamed of it now that I look back on it.  I can't recall booing any ex-Melbourne players since.

That's my view - each to their own.

Some interesting opinions by all.

The voting shows a resounding NO to booing Luke Jackson too. Which I respect and acknowledge.

My apologies for the somewhat mischievous post. But I was legitimate with my curiosity!

I guess I will reserve my booing for Mason Cox (who I despise after he basically kicked/kneed poor Max Gawn in the guts last year) when we play Collingwood on King's Birthday for the Big Freeze 9 Fight MND match.

I would only booooo IF he did something on the ground that would warrant such a reaction to any other player.
Otherwise I have moved on as has he.
The reflex boooooing from Port and WCE in particular to any opposition possession or football action is just pathetic.   Even brilliant goals or marks gets them going. 🤮🤮🤮

I’m pretty sure Farmer got booed the 4 times he played us at the G. He was not all popular with the faithful with his decision to leave.

One game he kicked 7 against us in a win over us.

Reckon there might be some soft ironic boo's early on, but don't expect it to go all afternoon.

He helped us win a flag. If I was 21 and offered a huge salary, I'd take it.

Don't forget we have 2 first rounders coming our way.

Different circumstance to $cully.

I'm sure this has been said, but would be far classier to thank him (which we never got to do) for his part in what I assume is one of the best things all of us have ever experienced? If I was there Id be applauding him to counter the boos. Better to demonstrate to all our players (past, present and future) that once a Demon, always a Demon.

The people who choose to book him are probbaly the same poeple that booed Oskar Baker in r1.

I won't be booing unless he does osmehting to one of our players.

It's not like he has come out and bagged our club

After he left we got a pretty good replacemnt in Grundy. So it's worked out pretty well.

He also provided the best 10 minutes of entertainment in that GF and I will always be grateful for that.

Anyway I hope to hear no booing, then it means he hasn't got the footy.

I couldn't understand the booing for Oskar, he wasn't getting any time for us and we didn't need or want him. I hope he played well this season (Not against us) seems like a good guy.

Yep, plenty of stick both ways with Farmer.

Booing is embarrassing under any circumstances, but it's the worst kind of theatrics after he played a key role in the flag and left without serious angst. I'm not happy about him leaving but not enough to get excited about it like when Scully snuck out the side door of a flaming wreck in the dead of night.

The highlight of the Scully return was mass-abuse being hurled at him, then James McDonald getting a round of applause for his first touch.

That was totally classless but I'd say retaliation for Dogs fans booing Hunter first rather than any issue with Baker.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
