Best would be if we win both finals and so do Collingwood and we play em in the grandfinal

X2. This is what I want to and get the same result as 1964.

And we made 5 changes after winning the prelim. Mind you, 4 were injured.

Smart move by Freo to stay on the East Coast until their finals end.

If they didn't and kept winning they would fly Perth-Melb-Perth-Syd-Perth-Melb over a two week period where they have just 6 or 7 day breaks between games.

Now they go Perth-Melb-Syd-Melb and stay here until they are knocked out.  Its a bit like the hub/fortress we created last year, reducing distractions.  While unlikely it could be galvanising enough to get through to the GF.

Things have changed, gotta be portable now. Your own bed is overrated anyway 😝

Freo please please win. You won't have much support today & be booed by ferals but the majority of Victoria are willing you to win.

Freo are really the only team I want to win it. I could just handle Brisbane beating geelong next week.

Nothing would make me feel more to see Collingwood and geelong in a gf

This game is breathless. The pies going for the jugular straight from the get go. They won't die wondering I'll give them that

C'mon Freo

Fremantle haven’t been that bad but find themselves down four goals already. Collingwood can really hurt you on turnover.

The Pies speed on the ball is catching everyone out, but like our strength behind the ball last year it’s also the opportunity. I’d be very confident that by mid next year coaches have figured out Collingwood. Might be better to give up clearances and have more numbers back. Let them run themselves ragged and trust that their run and gun style will give you opportunities on the rebound.

Why can’t Goodwin play an open Forward Line? It’s the best way to use The MCG

The Filth are just running with the ball, it ain’t hard to work out

With Tracc, Clarry and Viney in the middle I hust don’t understand why we always have a congested Fwd Line

Collingwood have so many fast runners in their midfield and backline which we lack other than Langdon. And they play on so quickly which opens up so many options, I feel like we did that last year.

Freo’s forward line is as dysfunctional as ours.

Their inside 50 entires are just deplorable as ours.

Collingwood are a team that plays the G beautifully.

He's got a defensive mindset, kick to a packed pocket so there is less of a chance for opposition to hurt you with turnovers

Which was mostly ineffective at The MCG all year. I am looking from outside. Inside the Club they live and breathe it, but i just don’t understand, particularly after TMac went down. Give Fritsch and Brown the Arc

and the Filth get another one

FREO are garbage and Brayshaw for a Brownlow favourite very very avg

HTB is such a raffle, these finals

Too many pinged for incorrect disposal when the ball gets knocked out in the tackle.

Speed kills on the G and we don't have enough of it. At the game and the Pies are so quick. Also leaving Elliot deep forward makes the Dockers second guess their defensive structure. We need fresh outside legs and fresh ideas in the box as well.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
