They will take some solace that we have been poor aerially and with Big Max out imthey still have the advantage from selection.

Weed has to make Andrew’s accountable there is no doubt about it.

Their ins aren't a patch on their outs.  Weakens them considerably.

The three ins have barely 80 games between them.  I think Tunstill is a debutant.

It shows they have very little depth beyond their best 22.

Dees by 3 goals!!

I don't get how rucks will work. Max has a superhuman tank. He's out. What will be the rotations?

If Bbb is away from the goalsquare this could be a masterstroke.

Geez. You'd be tempted to name Tommo as the sub considering our defensive woes this year.

Under the circumstances these are the right changes. Now just get it right in the head.

Our best available team imo.  Just need a return to form from a few who have been a bit 'off the pace' in recent weeks, and we will  record a comfortable win.  Brisbane 'outs' help in this regard.

Apart from Max this is one of the best balanced teams we have put out on the park this year. Are they ready to go, I bloody hope so.

Our sub will be over 180cm for just the 2nd time this year. Could make a good argument for Tomlinson since we've gone in smaller and Petty has been sustaining a few injuries recently. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see Hunt who can cover back and forward.

While there is a lot of talk with regard to the ruck structure and operation of the forward 50, I get the feeling that we are going into this match light on midfield rotations.

Jordon, Langdon and a rotation of either Brayshaw or Sparrow covers the wings with Langdon on the ground 99%+ of the time it is the onball brigade that looks light to me.

Petracca, Oliver and Viney are a given but cannot be there 100% of the time. Harmes, Sparrow and Brayshaw can rotate through there as can ANB but after that there is not a lot of midfield depth in this team.

Take into account that we have named an IC of two defenders and two small forwards. Bedford and Pickett can make an appearance in the middle or around the ball but they cannot spend a deal of time there during the match.

I see this as a tough one to win for the Dees.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
