Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jones vs Howe

As 'reported' by Jack Watts...

“I think I would have seen this 20 times over my career,” he said on a new episode of KFC SuperFooty TV.

“If you had have asked me (which) two Melbourne players were in a scuffle, I would have probably said these two.

“Clearly they’ve had a bit too much to drink, it gets a bit chirpy and something’s pushed over the line – they’re good mates ... it obviously got to that point where Melky’s had enough.”

Watts revealed former teammates Nathan Jones and Jeremy Howe had been involved in a similar incident during his time at the Dees.

“Jonesy and Howey had a good one one year, just a little fisticuff to the grill.

“It was exactly what would have happened here – Howey gets pretty chirpy on the p---, so does Jonesy, they were both going at each other and one person’s just had enough.”

  • Demonland changed the title to Jones vs Howe

In shocking news ultra competitive people are ultra competitive. Watch the Bulls doco series. It’s been 30 years and those guys are still annoyed at each other about who was more important to their success.

It was dumb, but it’s part of the territory.

At my local footy club Tooronga Malvern in the early 2000s, there was a few scraps between players off the field including I remember one full on in an Albury hotel car park. Guess what, blokes don’t always agree on some things and some don’t know when to shut up (or don’t have others willing to tell them to shut up). Unfortunately the amber liquid is always a common accomplice to all such events.

Yep. Big Blokes Punch on. It will always be. I wish S May had played last week, and that he was sanctioned in a different way.
Neale deserved better than what he got. He is having trouble walking now….

If we're relying on one player to beat Collingwood we're covering cracks with wall paper. Not sure that winning the game for Neale can be used as inspiration as we have lost 6 of 8 big freezes.

Yeah right.
Didn't know that but am not surprised.

Annoyed me other day that we just rolled over.
When Collingwood finally got on top they just took over.
On the big stage, 80k there .... We didn't give a yelp.

A lot of us loved Jack, great kid who loved the club. He was never a business driven guy, he valued his teammates and his club. There was a lot to like about that as you really don’t see that in society much these days. Even the week he was traded he came out on his own and stated how much he loved the club and didn’t want to leave, his loyalty and happy go lucky attitude may have been to his detriment.

I’ve got no issues at all with him going on shows like this and sharing some good stories, having a good bit of a yarn. The problem for Jack is he is not an insider anymore and if he thinks he can live off this last shred of clout he has as a former AFL footballer then it’s only downhill from here. The only reason a story like this has any relevance is because the two former teammates of his are either still playing with a decent profile or recently retired legends. I’d like to see how many hits a take like this gets in 5 years time, maybe I’m wrong and people will still lap it up but I was hoping to see an encouraging new path for Jack post AFL career than the back page gossip stuff.

Apologies in advance if this strikes a nerve with some, that's just my view.

Must be running out of steam and new information - Jack said this was on Fox early last week after it first happened and its only hit the Hun now... and watching the show it sounded like he was just recounting some locker room stories from over his career, not much more!

I played for them too, and there were plenty of scraps in the club rooms in the early 90s.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
